Hi!

So everything sounds great and nice and everything but
how can I use my "DIV Overlay Layout" over the "2.0"????

It seems that the news of TOM is brandnew...

It makes the main part pretty useless now when myspace phases out the old profile one day.
It just makes layout coding harder but it still works.

It makes CreateBlog pretty useless now...

1. not for all the people who don't switch over to 2.0, which i'm sure will be a lot considering it's not mandatory to switch.

2. not when we start submitting 2.0 layouts.

3. it doesn't make our support sections useless, since it will still be answering questions. it just makes it even more useful. plus our support isn't limited to myspace in the first place.

4. we provide more layouts than just myspace layouts

5. it doesn't effect our tutorials or graphics sections at all.

I despise 2.0
I'm up for change just as long as it doesn't suck.

I think the new 2.o is extremly gay cause you cant have your own layout!

It could use a few tweaks but mostly it looks ok, a bit more modern.

I just submitted a layout for Profile 2.0 just to show you can code with the new Profile. Here it is.

Just wait for the new layouts for it.

so, your layout will work even when you go to:
-CUSTOMIZE
-CSS TAB

then just input it in there? _unsure.gif

well i'm not going to stop using cb...i like it here, the codes are awesome, the graphics are really good..and the help is phenomenal! biggrin.gif

so whoever thinks that people are going to stop using cb, then thats a mistake because once and a while they are going to need some help with the new myspace and every other common problem.. _smile.gif

You can still use html
all divs and layouts wont work
but some will
you put it in the css box when you go to customize

honestly, i think 2.0 is going to make things 10x easier for designers and divs. everything on the profile uses classes instead of ids, so poorly developed "hide all codes" won't be necessary anymore. not only that, but 2.0 uses divs instead of tables. CSS floats will come in handy here.

^ You can also use the number sign (#) now.
Never mind it doesn't work anymore.

heres an easier way to hide everything (not including the Nav)
- Customize
- then MODULES, when you are there just X out everything, then use this code to hide the INFO box left over..

CODE
.bft {Hides your Info Box do not remove!}
div.basicInfoModule, {display: none;}

Does anybody know how to "steal" layouts from the 2.0's?
I've been trying for about 45 minutes and I was informed that I could possibly be helped here. :)

To use colors for backgrounds or anything else you have to use RGB values instead of hex codes

I always have been using hex colors, it works for everything still except the background-color. Might just be my cache though.

Well, I just read that TimTamTom said something of MySpaces builds-up faster because
of the new code etc. though I thought nothing would be wrong with that?! :)

i just read tom's profile 2.0 update, and it looks like the # symbol is going to be able to be used in the near future. that's why hex colors aren't working, because people are used to using border-color:000000; or something similar. once myspace fixes the pound symbol glitch, to use hex colors instead of rgb, you'll have to use border-color:#000000; or you can do it with shorthand, as border:1px solid #000000;

fixtatik and Anarchy, I should of updated, but the # sign and background color started to work again about a week ago. Was myspace's problem.

But !important is being filtered out now. I can't hide the nav or its blue bg.

^You can't hide the nav/blue background on the 1.0 page or the 2.0 version?

You can hide the background on the nav as well as get rid of different segments if you want on 2.0.

I've almost got mine completely customized and shruken down to the size I want it.

You just have to look for ways around different filters.
