The Kumon Centre I work at hires people who are 13.... they just get paid less than minimum wage. More specifically, a 16-year-old gets paid only $6/hr, while a high school graduate gets paid at least $9/hr. But that might just be because they have limited knowledge on the subjects and therefore are unable to properly tutor the higher-level kids.

lol, I worked at Kumon for a little bit. I'd just go into any store or restaurant and ask for their age requirements. Most offer jobs for 16+. You just can't work more than a certain set amount of hours bc of child labor laws, etc.

I'd say yeah to the grocery store thing, since the only thing you would have to do is cashier. But for guys no.

no, because cashiering is/can be a unisex job, unless you live in a podunk little town.

Usually you have to be 18 and older to be a cashier. You could be a stocker or bagger.
