just because you like to talk does not automatically make you good at debating or making speeches.

Wrong. Speech and Debate isn't entirely about debating or making speeches.

Speech and Debate has two categories: argumentation and interpretation.

interpretation contains several events: dramatic, thematic, humor, exposition, impromptu, and etc.

All these don't have to relate to "debating". All of these relates to talking whether it's for fun, argument, convey a story, or ANYTHING!

Yeah I know that. I was keeping my response short. But thanks anyways for automatically assuming that I'm stupid.

lol, Yanlin, I love your short posts.

If you join Speech or Debate, hopefully no one will think that you're the annoying one who doesn't know when to shut up. One of my friends who has always been really shy was in Forensics and Debate and always went to state, so you don't have to be a "talker" to excell.

No one is assuming you're stupid. mellow.gif he didn't say he was good at argument or speeches. He simply just stated he will probably join debate because he likes to talk, not because he was good at arguing or presenting speeches. I don't know how you jumped into the conclusion of assuming what you mentioned earlier, "you like to talk does not automatically make you good at debating or making speeches".

If one likes to talk, one can improve his speaking skills by joining speech and debate. There’s nothing wrong. It is a common stereotype that speech and debate is for nerds, argumentative people, hardcore speakers, and geniuses that requires high level debate & speech skills , but it's not true at all.

Almost every girl generally likes to talk, but we know it doesn’t automatically make them good debaters or speech-er.

again, you're not stupid (because you're smart)

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/forensics
QUOTE
–adjective
1. pertaining to, connected with, or used in courts of law or public discussion and debate.
2. adapted or suited to argumentation; rhetorical.
–noun
3. forensics, (used with a singular or plural verb) the art or study of argumentation and formal debate.

QUOTE
1. The art or study of formal debate; argumentation.
2. The use of science and technology to investigate and establish facts in criminal or civil courts of law.

forensic does means arguments or debate.

to answer your question with the given answers, it's called acting.

QUOTE

Do you mean multiple names of the official title or just literal words? Whether your school called it as forensic or not, it IS forensic.

nooo, it has nothing to do with speech and debate but you are somewhat right about the definition. do your homework, look through the dictionary, and research. mellow.gif
