Yesterday at the market when I was lifting groceries out of the cart I noticed that I seem pretty random when selecting which foods are non-fat, which foods are low-fat and which I pick out with standard fat.
I think that after all these years, my choice ultimately goes with taste. For example, I cannot deal with mayonnaise that isn't full fat. I'd rather limit the amount I put on a sandwich than to go low fat or ew, non fat with mayo. I can't drink full milk, it has to be 1% but non-fat (skim) is just pushing it. I can tolerate low fat sour cream, but I will NOT use non-fat and I prefer full fat, using less. I won't even touch non-fat or low-fat cheese. Non-fat yogurt doesn't bother me at all, in fact, I prefer that over full fat or low fat versions. I always use non fat half/half for my coffee. Any salad dressing that isn't vinegar based can't be non-fat but Italian types, I have no problems with non-fat. What's cool, I think, is that I don't even think about these choices anymore when grocery shopping. lol |

For me, it all depends on what I'm going to use it for. I like using low-fat versions of things when I'm making something for myself, but when I am cooking, I prefer the fullfat versions. Whenever I use the reduced fat, or nonfat versions of things, I have to tweak the recipe a bit. I grew up on whole-milk, but now I just don't have the taste for it. I cannot stand nonfat milk. It's pointless.

Soy milk to me just tastes plain nasty.
Full Fat or Non Fat, it just depends on what kind of food it is.. |

I prefer nonfat milk, although my parents always get 1%. I just don't like the creaminess... Milk is for washing taste down. And I prefer nonfat yogurt too, because it's less tangy.
Olive oil mayonnaise is really good, and obviously has fat. I'm not sure if I really notice fat content with cheese since I don't eat it too often. Sometimes lowfat/nonfat stuff tastes less good, but with some things it's a tolerable difference in exchange for a healthier meal. |

You can have all kinds of vegetables they are healthy than the fatty foods like meat & fish... you can have pasturised milk, butter milk than having curd, curd have lots of fat which you can put some weight...

There is zero reason why anyone should buy non-fat variations, other than taste.

lol I can't look at a regular tub of mayo anymore - sometimes it just disgusts me. I blame my boyfriend for scooping out the Mayo and slathering it on his bread in such a disgusting way.
![]() I like low-fat mayo because it's lighter, but I barely use mayo anyway. mm non-fat yogurt, especially frozen yogurt ![]() |
