I have a car, not the best, but it runs and gets 25 MPG so it'll work.

I have a car from 1979. It's a classic, but its gas mileage is the pits. So, don't get one of those.

Craigslist is amazing for this though.

I'm thinking about getting a '94 Miata soon, but I don't have any car right now. I never really needed one, but now I travel a lot more than I used to, and having a car would be better than having to hitch a ride with friends.

2006 Nissian Sentra 1.8s, 5 speed manual. It gets about 31 mpg for my driving style. Overall its been reliable. Only had one problem: it needed a drive belt change at 27,000 miles.

^ But if you get your own car, it really means 'they' will get you a car. So theyre going to kill you anway. Save up money. Don't let them get it for you.

well yeah, but its different when its your moms and then my own. Like a few students at our school like to tag some of the cars. Also my mom told me how she wouldnt get me a brand new car so if it gets a little ding i wont feel as bad as i would if it was my moms car. Know what im saying?

I've had this car for about four years now, but for the first two years I didn't drive it much because I used public transport in Tulsa (it was cheaper). Now I live in a town that charges out the ass for public transportation.

It's a tiny red Mitsubishi Mirage, nothing special and definitely not in the best shape. It runs alright, though.

I was babysitting tonight and the parents, which are like family to me, left. A few minutes later they walked back in and were like "... Uh, Melanie.. we hit your car." Lol. They had backed into it.

And then, a few months ago. My brother was hanging out at my house and I left to go get some subway. I hopped into my car and when I was pulling out my brother had gotten into his truck and backed into my side. He didnt even look.

My car is all f'ed up. Lol, BUT it wasnt my fault :/

I drive a 2000 Honda Civic. It used to be my sister's, and before that it was my aunt's, who didn't want to pay more for it than she absolutely had to so it doesn't even have power windows. :/

My mom drives a Saturn, and she's gotten an offer to trade it in for something newer. My dad wants to trade it for an Astra 5-speed manual, but my mom doesn't know how to drive stickshift. I'm dying to learn, though, and if I get really really lucky, they'll trade it in, my mom will use my car and I'll get to drive the new one. *crosses fingers*

i have an 07 Honda Fit. it's small, convenient and pretty good on gas. i definitely recommend it, but not sure if you can find any cheap ones. i'd check craigslist (like people have already mentioned), autotrader and automart. good luck!
