MAC Fluidline Blacktrack
Some Korean brand for teal/blue eyeshadow
MAC Springsheen blush
MAC Nymphette l/g

Second 2:

YAY more contributors!

Carrie that colour looks lovely - what'd you use?

Yan lin - I use a fluorescent desk lamp

Yes mine's Hello Kitty too, and looks almost exactly like that XD. I tilt the head so it shines directly in my face, then take the photos with a digital camera. I keep it at Macro, no flash, but all other settings are default. You just have to make sure that when you're taking the picture, your hand isn't blocking the light from the lamp and you get a shadow.

Oooh, fluorescent desk lamp, I'm gonna have to remember that for later.

And thanks, Gigi happy.gif I used four different colors: a dark purple ("Purple Silk," The Body Shop) on my lid line (although it doesn't really look like it), a bright green ("Sprout," MAC) and bright gold ("Eldorado," Urban Decay) on my lids and a lighter gold ("Gold Chiffon," The Body Shop) right near my eyebrow. And then smudged it all together with my finger.

First one is super old, dk why I cropped it, must have looked gross whistling.gif
2nd one is newer... sorry they are bad color/quality lol.

I used to have a thing for blue. Not no more lol.
I also used to use mostly ZA eyeshadow, but they don't sell it here anymore :(
For the first one I used ZA 101 over the lid and 107 gold below the brow
and Mac Electric Eel on the lid. Lined with black, smudged around a bit. Also lined with gold pencil shadow... forget what brand.

The bottom was just straight up wet n wild eye pencil biggrin.gif In this periwinkle blue color. +fake eyelashes lol.

I've pretty much stopped wearing makeup for the past year thumbsup.gif

Hm, I love colored eye-shadow, but they tend to make me look like a clown, so I usually just stick to naturals.

lol, the nailpolish is me being stupid at Sephora and trying out one of the orange shades ><

I'm pretty sure I'm using some Duane Reade brand eyeshadow I bought because it was dirt cheap. And eyeliner & mascara are some shade of brown from Maybelline

Hm, you can barely see the eyeshadow, but it's a combo from the "Meet the Stones" Bare Minerals pack. And eyeliner & mascara are probably something from a convenient store.

And I only show one eye because I was born with a birth defect that makes my left eye stupid.

gigi, i love the goldish brown shade! what did you use? i seriously think i'm gonna go get it. i can never find a good gold color that isn't tacky and i really like how natural it plus i'm a fan of sparkles =) it looks like you used at least 3 shades right? the goldish one by the tearduct, the light brown in the corners and i think a reddish brown above that? oh and plus the white highlight under your brows? good blend! looks.

^ Pretty much. I used 4 shades though. Light pale, frosty yellow in the inner corner, mid-tone orangey-gold in the middle, coppery colour in the outer corner, plus a matte brown in the crease. Under the brows I used a satin cream colour, and then a pop of the pale frosty yellow I used in the inner corner RIGHT under the arch of the brow.

Which goldish brown shade are you talking about? Since the shadows I used are different from what you thought they were, I'm not sure what area of the eye you're talking about. Tell me and I can suggest what to use. :D

Most of the shadows I used were cheapo ones though, or very old eyeshadows, and hard to find. I could suggest a few alternatives though.

Oh, and it's probably helpful to note that I used a gold cream eyeshadow underneath it all as a base.

Thanks!

i like the satin creme color right under the arch of the brows & the yellow-gold in the inner corner & the matte brown by the crease! have any suggestions on where to get those colors?

and please enlighten me on how to apply eyeshadow as an lower eyeliner cause it also turns out weird/the eyeshadow flakes. i think it's just the brush i'm using. i use a sonia kashuk angled eyeshadow brush?

I used MAC eyeshadow in Vanilla for the satin cream colour.

Matte brown is pretty easy to get anywhere, the one I used was pretty neutral toned (i.e., not a lot of red in it). I might suggest MAC eyeshadow in Espresso for that.

Yellow-gold, maybe Ricepaper by MAC?

I suggested all MAC products because I'm pretty familiar with them, plus I know it'll be easy to find. Of course there are a lot of alternatives, so don't think those are the only ones you can use. I'm sorry I can't recommend the exact colours I used because they're impossible to find online or anywhere now (I tried!).

I've never really experienced eyeshadow flaking so I'm not really sure what you're talking about - do you mean like, the powder goes everywhere? Maybe use an eyeshadow base on your lower lashline - either an actual eyeshadow base or some sort of cream eyeshadow, anything "sticky". I used the tip of a flat eyeshadow brush for the lower lashes, but an angle brush should work. Try dabbing the shadow on instead of sweeping it across.

omg.gif you have just introduced me to a new realm of cosmetics! i now want to buy every single shade of eyeshadow that mac has to offer... they're all so pretty! and i'm only shopping online - imagine what i'll be like when i'm in an actual mac store! so instead of buying like a bunch of eyeshadows, i was looking at the eyeshadow suite. how about THIS maybe?

i don't own any cream shadows cause they always creased very easily, but i'll try the dabbing idea! i think i might just not have the right features for that. like your lower lash line is more inset than mine so it looks really good. erhm it's a hard feature to describe, but it's a good thing! =] i usually don't wear anything on my lower lash line for that reason. if anything, i'll put on top eyeliner. speaking of, i'm running out. perhaps i'll get a mac eyeliner lol.
i'm just gonna go on a mac extravaganza. thanks for the suggestions!!

Don't let online pictures fool you! MAC product photos are infamously deceiving. They're never the same in person =_=.

The Suite Array shadows have been getting crappy reviews, but you never know until you really go and try them. Sweet Liaison looks like an appropriate colour though.

http://pics.livejournal.com/karlasugar/pic/0000cebq
^for swatches

Yeah cream shadows crease for me too, not unless I use Urban Decay Primer Potion! :D Love that stuff to death. I would recommend it to anybody.

I'm glad I fueled your MAC addiction (maybe? LOL). Check out http://specktra.net if you're really into it. The ladies over there are very, very helpful.

I just really want the Emmanuel Ungaro see through lip color and one of the Dual Edge Eye pencils from the old Heatherette collection since mine was stolen a couple months ago.

I know, it sold out in like 2 days! I wasn't a fan of the colours either (when am I going to wear yellow eyeshadow and bright orange blush?!) but the packaging was purty.

I used MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light-Medium. I love it!

^ Some people have complained about it breaking them out. I find that it's okay. If you don't use too much of it, it looks quite natural because it's very sheer.

Oh I also used MAC Mineralize blush in Nuance if that's what you meant by what I used on my face, Irene.

no i meant the Skinfinish Natural thing you were talking about :-p i'll look into that! i think i steered away from powder cause it comes off really easily (okay nasty example, but if i blew my nose, the powder will come off on the kleenex) so then i used liquid cause it blended better... but i walked past a MAC store today and couldn't stop staring at all the lovely cosmetics!

i wanted to get an eyeliner with my shadows, but i couldnt decide on which type/shade. i've narrowed the shades down to prunella (dark purplish) & teddy (brownish). any recommendations on the type of eyeliner? i didn't get the difference between the kohl and whatnot.

I can't, for the life of me, use liquid foundation unless I've exfoliated my skin like twice. And vigorously. I have these patches on my cheeks (they're not even dry patches, I have NO IDEA what they are), and they are greatly accentuated by liquid foundation. I have no idea why this happens. So I'm pretty much limited to powder. Plus I have oily skin, so it all works out.

I can't really recommend you eyeliner because I hardly use it (smudges like a mofo on me). So I'm not even well-informed about eyeliner, because I don't care about it. I've heard Urban Decay's 24/7 liners are AWESOME though, apparently they are very long-lasting and glide on smoothly. It depends on what you'd like your eyeliner to do...

Between the two I'd get Teddy since you would get more use out of it, especially if you don't have any eyeliner to begin with.

liquid foundation works on me. but i use both. :X

and I prefer to buy liquid liners because pencil does not stay on me (other than MAC's dualedge liner). You should try MAC's liquidlast liner, because that shit works really well.

I have MAC Fluidline too. I think gel liners, in general, are much easier to use than liquid liner, and are quite long-lasting.

^ i think i'm gonna try that, cause i need like a powder to set in the liquid creme. otherwise my face looks just a tad shiny.

liquid liners are too harsh on me (tho they do stay very well!). and i don't know, it just doesn't look good... probably cause i've only used a clinique creme liner and a crappy covergirl one. the creme liner smudges like crazy, as do most eyeliners for me. i ALWAYS get a faint eyeliner mark on my crease from blinking and it looks retarded. i've been trying to find a eyeliner that battles this annoying problem (currently i use lancome's le stylo waterproof in prune, but it ran out. it works the best so far) but i'm starting to think that it's just my stupid eyes pinch.gif yes, i have tried setting the eyeliner by dabbing eyeshadow on it after application - it doesn't work.

I get the liner mark on my crease too, but only if I draw my liner too thick. Your crease could be different from mine though. If you have a pretty thin crease, maybe try doing your liner thicker, up to the point where any creasing would just blend into the actual liner...if that made sense.

The only way eyeliner doesn't crease is if I use a primer underneath (Urban Decay Primer Potion), and setting it with eyeshadow on top. Although lately I've just been using eyeshadow straight-up as a liner.

If it REALLY REALLY bothers you, try using an eyeliner sealant like Benefit's Shelaq.

It took me forever to figure out how much eyeliner was enough, lol. I tend to overuse.

and since Sandy doesn't get my eye "defect"... this is the only picture where you can sorta see it. People say they don't notice it until I point it out, but that's probably because I have side-bangs to cover that shit up.

My left eye (to the right) is single-lidded while my right eye is double. -_-. makes me super self-conscious.

^ I now understand what you mean about being self-conscious. My allergies have now made my right eye have hundreds of folds (or no folds at all on some days) while my left one looks totally normal.

^ stop rubbing them! & take non-drowsy allergy meds! & use ice packs (esp in the morning)!

it works, i tell you! this was my remedy routine after my eyes were like that for 2 weeks... except both my eyelids had like a ten folds each. i looked spectacular those 2 weeks haha

I try very hard not to rub them and I take a Reactine pill every morning. And I don't use ice packs because usually when my eye feels like shit and has a bunch of folds, it also gets kinda pink-eye-ish, so I have to used boiled water to sooth it. Thus making it puffier.

See Joanne. EVEN THIS STRANGER GIRL TELLS YOU NOT TO RUB YOUR EYES! LISTEN TO THE WISE GIRL! XD

Melissa, that happens to me a lot. Not to your extent, but sometimes I get like 3 folds in one eye and one reeeeeeally undetectable one in the other. Pisses me off. You could probably make your eyes look more even by making your eyeliner thicker on the single-lidded side, up to the point where your eyeliner reaches on your double-lidded side if that made any sense. It'll create the illusion of more even eyes I suppose.

Or eyelid tape but I hate that shit. Anyway your "defect" (lol...no) is unique. :D

why don't you put wet drops in? or take a hot shower?

then use the ice packs! =] seriously, ice packs does wonders. i use it on/off for like 20 minutes in the morning and my mound-of-fat of an eyelid heals instantly!

I've tried using eye drops, but they just screw up my eye even more. And I can't take hot showers because my skin is very sensitive to it. Yes, my health is super f**ked up.

Anyway, enough about my eyes. LOL

lol, yeah, I usually do my makeup to hide it, but I've been getting lazy, lately. Most people don't even know what I'm talking about when I describe my "defect" so I guess that's a good thing, right?

I'm getting surgery on that eye as soon as I'm 21.
