I think I'm posting this in the right place
I've had this problem with my psp for awhile (I have 8 LOL but I still like it). It only started happening around the start of this year. When I open a picture, and try to crop it, psp will just shut down. At first I thought it was that maybe the file size of the picture was too large, but it has happened with cell phone pics, and other small pics as well. I tried finding out if other people had similar problems, and I read somewhere that if you run the program as an administrator, it will fix it. I do that everytime now, and at first it worked, but about a couple days later I tried cropping a picture and it shut down again. It doesn't do this everytime I try to crop pictures, but I'd say in a week, 3/5 times I use psp it will shut down. It's really irritating and I haven't been able to fix it or even find out why it's doing that. Is it because ver. 8 is too old or something? Any help is appreciated. |

I just don't understand why it never did it before, and only does it now >:/
Like I'll be in the middle of something too, and it'll just shut down. It doesn't crash or anthing, I'll just be in the middle of trying to crop, and it'll freeze/say its not responding, pop up this error message and I just close the program. But it doesn't delay or anything. |

How old is your version of PSP?
I don't use PSP, but I used another Corel graphic-design program and I experienced the same problems I whenever tried to crop, delete without using the eraser, copy an image... I figured it was because I was using a version that was at LEAST 7 years old and moved onto Adobe CS3. =/ |

Mine used to do that too. But it stopped. I didn't actually do anything to fix it.

It's PSP8. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It doesn't fix it. Some days it will do it, and some days it doesn't. Idk. Most of the time it will shut down though.

Ok, I just tested this out and things are moving slightly smoother for me. I don't know how it will work for you, but there's no harm in trying.
Go through your "My PSP Files" folder and clear out anything you don't need, especially brushes. I guess the program is just not "powerful" enough to hold too much. |

^You can set it to save what you're doing every few minutes. I don't remember how you get that, but I have that setting on mine.
