Either my mom is wack, but she thinks Covergirl is too cheap and less effective. I don't know why ANTM would want to advertise something like this? Correct me if I'm wrong.

OH i'm using someone's font. hehe :) begins with a "m"

I hope that you're not looking into makeup products for yourself, lol. I've used their Truematch foundation, and it isn't that bad. Right now, I use their powder foundation and works pretty effectively for the cost. Just because things are inexpensive doesn't mean they are cheap.

Yes, Toby's, but that doesn't matter. You may use Tahoma if you feel like it. o_O

I've never used them, because I'm poor sad.gif And make-up isn't something that personally wear a lot, besides eyeliner throb.gif So it's not something that I find it necessary to splurge on. Maybe someday.

Covergirl smells weird. I use Neutrogena, Maybelline & Almay. I would love to buy some of the make up Sephora sells but I'm broke. I go in there, put my face together & leave without buying anything. tongue.gif

I swatched some Chanel shadows in the store the other day AND THEY f**kING SUCK. It's like, yeah, here's 2% pigment and 98% f**kING GLITTER.

Although it's drugstore makeup, it's not bad. CoverGirl has gotten substantially better ever since Pat McGrath, god of makeup artists, has stepped in as Creative Design Director (which is why those new brightly colored shadows are HOT! And exponentially better than those shit glitter Chanel shadows). But even before then, it wasn't bad. CG LashBlast mascara is way up there, arguably better than MAC's Plushlash and even Dior's Diorshow. I have also heard that the teeth whitening (Crest?) lipglosses that CG has are awesome.

To me, drugstore makeup goes CoverGirl > Revlon > Maybelline >>>> Rimmel. I hate Rimmel. Their eyeshadows smell like stale crayons.

It all depends on the products you're using. In general I like my eyeshadows to be from more expensive brands (after all you do pay more for pigment and better colour-payoff), foundation, concealer, eyeliner, lipstick, blush...all expensive. I'll cheap out on the lipgloss and mascara, and even eyeshadow if it's good quality. It's never a good idea to assume that cheap = bad.

Clinique is a so-so for me in terms of make-up because the colour payoff is absolutely shitty at times. Not like glitter shitty like Chanel, but just very, very sheer. Too sheer. You can't get that shit to show up. I do loooooove Clinique powder foundation formulas and eyeliner though. I use Clinique skincare sparingly because of the shocking ingredients in their toner, aka acid.

cheap definitely does not equal bad. most of my makeup is cheap makeup. but cheap makeup just cannot compare to expensive makeup 99% of the time.

^ Your sister's opinion, which is perfectly valid. But I'm just going by what hundreds of other people have said on forums, blogs, and YouTube reviews. Lashblast is pretty much right up there. Overall I consider CG mascaras to be pretty awesome.

I'm a makeup snob for the most part. I don't really buy drugstore products because I believe expensive is better 99% of the time. There's so many brands out there.. One company can have amazing eyeshadow, but have shitty eyeliners, y'know? Personally, CG is the best drugstore brand I've tried, but I don't think it's comparable to some of the higher end companies. shrug.gif
