Well I ran into this video of Jesse McCartney singing "Buy You a Drank"

I was wondering if there is a certain song that your favorite artist covered?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2jmQ8n4ORs
I love this too, Aly and Aj covers a "Black horse in a Cherry tree"

I don't like that song but Jesse McCartney singing it was pretty nifty. _smile.gif

My fav. covers are:
Elton John - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

All Time Low - Umbrella

Your Song by Ewan McGregor in Moulin Rouge

Pretty much any song by Michael Buble, especially Come Fly With Me, Fever & You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby.
Myfly's version of Don't Stop Me Now.

That Jesse McCartney cover was nifty. I really liked that.

Hmm... the only cover I can think of off hand right now is Rage Against the Machine's "How Could I Just Kill A Man." The original is by Cypress Hill. That shit blew my mind when I first realized it.

Edit: And Dynamite Hack's cover of Eazy E's "Boyz in the Hood." The Dynamite Hack cover is f**kin' classic.

Punkass trippin' in the dead of night...

I agree on All Time Low's cover of "Umbrella". It's amazing live and on the CD. I like Anberlin's acoustic cover of Radiohead's "Creep". And Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal", also. The last one I can think of right now is Chase Coy's cover of "I Will Follow You Into The Dark".

Haha it's ironic how I'm listening to Jess right now.
I loooooooooooove Jesse McCartney's version. I tried it add it to my myspace but the person who uploaded the song disabled adding the song to your profile. stubborn.gif If Jesse were to sell his version on iTunes, I think I'd buy it lol.

As far as any of my favorite artists covering songs, I can't think of any right now but there are some good ones out there.

For sure! I love the cover. It's a very passionate remake and remarkably done.

Cowboy Junkies made a cover of The Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" a long time ago. Beautiful remake and one of my favorite tunes to listen to.

YESSSS! I love it when people do cover's of Wonderwall. Ryan Adams & Cat Powers are amazing!

Cartel's version was, eh.

The other day I downloaded Leona Lewis' version of Snow Patrol's "Run" and it was pretty good. Nothing can beat an original Snow Patrol, IMO but this wasn't too bad. Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rl7r2ApESN4

Tori Amos covering the song "smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana. Although I love this woman to death, she killed "hurt" by Nine Inch Nails when she covered it. She shot it, stabbed it, danced on it and shot it again.
And, I do like A Perfect Circle's cover of the song "imagine".

And um agreed with Jerome on Off By One's cover of Torn. I also like Marie Digby's Umbrella and Nada Surf - If You Leave.

The Startling Line - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now

Yellowcard - Everywhere

And I know she's not famous, but I just love her cover.. Well, it's not really a cover since she re-wrote it and it's in English now, but whatever.

It's a tough one. Either Tommyknocker's cover (Unless remixes don't count) of Twist by Korn, or Alien Ant Farm's cover of Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson.

Don't have a favorite, but I think Jesse McCartney doing "Bleeding Love" was interesting. Well, the song was intended for him to sing.

I actually heard the cover on Perez Hilton and I wasn't watching the video while listening to it (because, like always, I don't care for the music video anyway). But yeah I just watched it. WTF? They should Video on Trial that shit. Licking that honey(?) off his face...gross.

Yeah but what else would they lick...

I don't even want to think about it.

I listen to this so often now that I don't even remember how the original sounds like.

This is OLD, so I'm not sure how many of you have heard it, but Ike & Tina Turner's cover of "Proud Mary" (originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival) is one of the most excellent covers ever.

I've always been a big fan of Nirvana's cover of "Son of a Gun" (originally by The Vaselines). It just has a great sing-songy kind of feel to it when Cobain plays it.
