http://www.westegg.com/cliche/

I got a little excited when I found this, but then I was sad because not a lot comes up when you search. Ah well. Maybe some of you might get better results.

For sick -
sick as a dog
sick as a parrot
love sick
sick'em
it makes me sick
sick and tired

For whine -
would you like some cheese with that whine

I've actually never heard that one. I don't even remember seeing it being used on cB either.

My friend used to say "cheese with that whine" all the time. Or "crackers with that whine". I'm the one who usually ends up looking like a dumbass because I don't understand the idioms people use all the time.

Is "cheese with that whine" a Southern and Midwestern thing? I've never heard anyone say that in New York, or ever.

I added "Great minds think alike" to the list. I hear it all the time and I HATE it because it's like someone's flattering themselves.

"running around like a chicken with its head cut off"

LOL. I've heard "cheese with that whine" before, but I'm not sure if it's a regional thing or not - it seems like I've heard it on television, but I dunno.

Saying "At the risk of sounding cliched...." is a cliche in itself.

^ Agreed. I'm guilty of that.

I clicked on the "See Ten Random Clichés" link and got "Useless as a piss hole in the snow."

Clicked Random:

ugly as a mud fence
until hell freezes over
hitting bottom
That dog won't hunt
you have to get up pretty early in the morning to pull the wool over my eyes
last but not least
make it plain and clear
a wet bird never flies at night
change of heart
gird up your loins

on the carpet
Mellow out man
he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground
meet your Waterloo
he got screwed (cheated)
life is tough and then you die
in a rut

LIFE'S TUFF, GIT A HELMET

Thanks wink.gif

I read it, and it didn't make any sense to me. Haha.
