So, I finally got off my lazy butt and rebooted my computer (yay!)
Alls well, except for ONE thing.

The screen resolution.

The highest it goes is 1152 x 864 (32 bit)
It's UGLY. It's wide and stretched and I don't like it.
Unfortunately, that's the highest it goes. How do I get to go higher?

Info:
17" Screen
Dell Inspiron 1721
AMD Turion 64 X2
Windows Vista Home Premium

PS,
I don't know what the resolution was when I first got the computer, but it was normal then shrug.gif

I thought that 17" monitors could only display 1024x768.

Sometimes you can stretch it, but the quality kinda goes down after a little bit

It seems like Shrima's quality probably decreased by a lot. >_<

Set it back to 1024x768 since that's the normal resolution size for 17".

There is that option. But it's smaller, as in the number is smaller. So it's huge and even more stretchy.

I have a hunch (abigone) that it is my video card, as a matter of fact. I can't change screensavers, either. They all say:

The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or on that compatible with Direct3D

=/

Also, if you guys are familiar with Vista, you know how you can change the colors? Like this? Yea, I was able to change it before the reboot, but now I can't find it ANYWHERE on Control Panel.

Nah. Most 17" monitors can go way bigger, although resolution capabilities are dependent on the graphics card.

EDIT:
BREAKING NEWS
its fixed happy.gif

absolutely no idea how it happened. i did NOTHING. i didn't even download the video card. speaking of, i discovered what product family is and what i have. i have ATI Radeon Xsomenumber

here's how the screen resolution window looked before, and here's how it looks now. i didn't take a screen shot before it magically fixed, but i edited to picture to the best of my ability and memory.
