The Westboro Baptist Church, infamous for protesting at the funerals of Iraq war veterans is planning another protest in Chicago at the funeral of comedian Bernie Mac.

In a press statement released to the media, the group claims that "God hates Bernie Mac and the entire potty-mouth, Hell-bound, f*g enabling entertainment industry."

The Kansas based group also says "America's filthy comedians have enraged God."

The church has come under fire in the past for inflammatory remarks about homosexuals, Muslims, Jews, and other minority groups and for picketing at gay pride events.

Mac's funeral services will be held Saturday morning.

Noooo... Westboro are decidedly not hippies. And they travel all around the country protesting and stuff. They think that the war was bought upon the US in retaliation for the country's "lax" stance on homosexuality.

yeah, the Westboro Baptist Church likes to have people and even kids stand around in topeka, where i live, holding up signs with stuff like that. they would go to specific locations and have like 10-12 signs like these.

"thank God for IED'S"
"thank God for 9/11"
"God hates f*gs"

and there are a few more but i don't remember all of them.

*EDIT- they would be at cemeteries also but there is a biker group (don't know their name) that would rally to the burial site and stay there to protect the family from these protesters. one time i was at a cemetery where they have a duck pond i take my daughter to, and i would say almost 100 bikers came around the street and gathered together for this one service.
