That should be interesting.![]() I'll admit, I watch ANTM every once in a while, but not enough to keep up with the contestants and who they are. I watch mostly to get a taste of professional fashion photography, ha ha. |

It's confirmed. She was one year ahead of me in school. I looked at her myspace years ago when (I guess) she was making the transition. She does it up, she should be good competition.

YAY.
A friend of a friend actually ran into them while they were filming in Amsterdam. Cool about the tranny, but the thing is, she won't win, but will be kept around for the 'controversy'. *edit* I'm liking McKey and Elina, right now, although none of them are REALLY gripping me from the inital photos. Also, from looking Aat the photos, I didn't think Isis was the transexual until I read the link Carrie posted. |

I thought it was everybody else (McKey, Sheena, Nikeysha, Analeigh, Lauren, Joslyn) before I thought it was Isis.I agree with you on McKey and Elina; I also like Marjorie and Hannah. |

I like Marjorie too, but the shallow part of me objects to her name being Marjorie, as she isn't (from appearances) 73. Also, I'll get yelled at by my friends for liking the girl with short hair again. Lol.

Apparently, she was one of the homeless girls who was in the background of the first shoot of cycle 10, and Tyra scouted her for the show before knowing her history.

Oh, I think it is so funny when people do this. Its such a weak attempt at making fun of me. I mispelled a word, you know what I meant. It wasn't a misspelling, it was a grammar mistake. And I wasn't making fun of you because of your typo. I was trying to draw a comparison between your lack of grammar (education) and your intolerance towards others that are different. Just because you don't understand those that are transgendered, it doesn't make the choice to have one on ANTM "stupid" and nor does it make the person in question "unhealthy." Intolerance is never cool. |

I think its f**kin stupid to have a tranny on there! YOUR NOT A WOMEN.... GO GET HEALTHY!!!!! You realize that some people are born male or female due to chemical imbalances (to put it simply) and it's really not something they can do anything about? Many times, when children like that are born, it's up to the parents to choose what gender they'd like their kid to be and, unlike what most parents think, they don't always choose correctly. In these cases, a lot of people who don't get a sex change end up depressed and suicidal, so I'd say that by "becoming a tranny" was her way to "get healthy." |

Intolerance is never cool. I know what you were doing. I dont have a lack of education because I made a grammar/misspelling error. Nor do I have an intolerance for others that are different. I believe transgenders are unhealthy people who are confused about their sexuality. And I dont agree with the show highlighting that kind of lifestyle and promoting it when there are many young, vulnerable people (kids) who watch it. And that is my opinion, it doesnt make me mean or intolerant at all. |

Firstly, the link I was trying to make is/was metaphorical. Do I really think you're uneducated? I don't even know you.
Secondly, there's a big difference between gender and sexuality, which by I'm assuming you mean sexual orientation. Obviously since not all gays and lesbians change their gender. In fact, a transgendered person might consider themselves "straight" (if such a thing exists) because they identify as the opposite gender. Sometimes, say, if a transgendered person is married before they start transitioning, they'll stay with their partners because of a love that goes deeper than just gender and surface appearance. Thirdly, I doubt that your statement that you're not intolerant. For example, "that kind of lifestyle." What the hell is that supposed to mean? Being true to who you really are, and openly at that, is not a "lifestyle." |

Anyway, a man who thinks he is/was supposed to be a woman and a woman who thinks she is a man are both confused. The society we live in today including the media and hollywood make it look like these people are normal. But they are not. And what I mean by "that kind of lifestyle" is a lifestyle in which a person is confused about their identity and their sexuality. Being true to who you are and being confused are two different things. And on another note, what about bisexuals. If you havent noticed it is becoming popular to be "bi" nowadays, especially in high school. Just like it is popular to be "gay/lesbian." A lot of young people are jumping on the band wagon. Its not "who they are," its just another sinful lifestyle. |

That is to say there is a profound difference between the physical traits and the meaning that those physical traits are supposed to have or the duties that a certain set of physical traits are supposed to assign (male vs. man; or [a bit easier to comprehend] female vs. woman). 2. And you say you're not intolerant. Well, I guess intolerant is the wrong word. You're just stuck in a heteronormative mold. It's okay, we're all like that to a certain extent. How old are you anyway...? |

I find it useless to argue with people who are obviously too ignorant to get the big picture.
It's more than just "what makes you happy," I hope you realize. Some transgender babies were born with mutated/different sexual organs, i.e. enlarged clitoris or shallow vaginas, due to imbalances during pregnancy. In cases like that, it's up to the parents (usually) to decide what gender they think the child should be. The doctors then proceed to perform the necessary surgeries. It's not the case with every transvestite, of course, but I don't think it's right for you to group them in this mindless bubble where you think they're "wrong and confused." |

How old are you anyway...? I dont agree with you that there is a difference between your physical traits and the meaning of them. You are who you are. You are the way you were created. When you begin to change who you are (your sexuality) its not natural. Of course, you all who are debating my opinion have a strict world view. If im in a "heteronormal" mold, I bet you havent even considered my way of thinking. I respect transgenders, gays, bis, and lesbians. Ive actually had a few as friends. Im not mean to them and I certainly dont offer my opinion to them. But I do think that they are unhealthy. Have you even considered that? And I know that my opinion is not popular, especially with society trying to show everyone that this lifestyle (theres that word again) is "normal" and you need to just "be who you are." But do you really think it is necessary to have a transgender on a show that many young people watch? Its completely unnecessary and it really upsets me and I bet it upsets many parents. Im 19 by the way, how old are you? I find it useless to argue with people who are obviously too ignorant to get the big picture. It's more than just "what makes you happy," I hope you realize. Some transgender babies were born with mutated/different sexual organs, i.e. enlarged clitoris or shallow vaginas, due to imbalances during pregnancy. I guess I wont reply to you cause you wont even consider it. =) I'd rather be 'sinful' and happy, than spend my life contriscted by the morals of a religion in which I may or may not believe. Explain to me how pursuing personal happiness is not normal. Are you a transgender? Are you speaking from personal experience or for someone else? |

Way to triple post.
Just by saying that im "too ignorant to get the big picture", It shows me that you are ignorant. At least im debating my opinion with others. You just declare right away that you are absolutely right and im wrong. I guess I wont reply to you cause you wont even consider it. =) What I mean by "too ignorant to get the big picture" is that your view of the transgender issue is purely based on your limited perception of what a transvestite is. You haven't bothered looking into the realm of medical issues, WHY someone might be what you called "confused," what makes someone feel like a female or a male, etc. A lot of it is due to the hormones and chemicals in your body, not just a "oh, I think I want to be a girl today" feeling. Many "males" who later get surgery have feminine features already because of a significant lack of testosterone, etc. Why should they be stuck in a male body when they obviously lack what it inherently takes to be male? That said, your views are your views. I don't condemn homophobes, racists, or sexists of being ignorant because I think people should be allowed the liberty of their own views. I'm calling you ignorant because your reasoning is based on a very limited understanding of transsexualism and you're just skipping over any attempts at a scientific explanation made by other people. |

That's not the definition of sexuality. The word you're thinking of is sex. And if I didn't consider your way of thinking or respected your opinion, we wouldn't be debating right now, would we? And I don't have a strict world view, obviously. I'm very open-minded. More than you seem to be, anyway. I don't think being transgendered is "unhealthy" or "sinful." Have I ever considered being transgendered "unhealthy"? No. When I was younger, I probably considered it unusual (I mean, because it is, I don't know what the rate of transgendered identity is, but it's probably not that high), but I've never considered it unhealthy. And yes, it is necessary to have a transgendered on a show that many young people watch, to expose young people to an alternative lifestyle to combat the various social phobias and discriminations that exist (i.e. homophobia, racism, sexism, which, interestingly enough intersect in the case of Isis). It's also going to be of great benefit to those who aren't openly LBGT, not even as a role model (since Isis said she's doing this for herself), but to let them know that they're not alone. And I'm 22. |

And I'm 22. Your right about you respecting my opinion. You obviously do and I respect yours also. Sorry, but sexual orientation/gender identity is part of who a person is. Along with someone's personality, opinions, habits, beliefs. It all makes up you. I am very open-minded. More than most people actually. According to the statistics, the National Center for Transgender Equality estimates that between 0.25% and 2% of the U.S. population is transsexual. That is an extremely small amount. If this kind of thing were normal, dont you think there would be more transsexuals? And for all the shows, like ANTM you claim, which help combat various discriminations there are the same amount which encourage discrimination. And thats the problem with the entertainment industry. Making LBGT people feel like they are not alone, they are actually giving them the idea that its ok to be transsexual. I dont want my kids (if I had any) or my neices or nephews watching a show that encourages that lifestyle. |

Way to triple post. What I mean by "too ignorant to get the big picture" is that your view of the transgender issue is purely based on your limited perception of what a transvestite is. You haven't bothered looking into the realm of medical issues, WHY someone might be what you called "confused," what makes someone feel like a female or a male, etc. A lot of it is due to the hormones and chemicals in your body, not just a "oh, I think I want to be a girl today" feeling. I'm calling you ignorant because your reasoning is based on a very limited understanding of transsexualism and you're just skipping over any attempts at a scientific explanation made by other people. I have looked into it. Probably not as much as you, because before this thread I honestly hadnt thought of it quite as much as I am now. I believe that transsexuals are influenced by biological factors as well as social/cultural factors. But I think that if they do feel confused about their sexuality or gender identity they should see a psychiatrist to deal with their issues properly, not act like the opposite sex or go as far as go to a surgeon to change their bodies. But I would like to hear your scientific explanation. one is named joslyn! i like her already :] Lol if one of them is named Melanie, I actually might consider watching =) |

I love Tyra because she loves herself so much and isn't afraid to embrace that. She is so over the top, I LOVE it. Also, she is absolutely always right in all of her critiques and even with her "smile with your eyes!" mantra.
My favorite this season is CLARK for sure... but I don't think she has much natural modeling talent yet. Her first photo shoot she didn't have a lot of variation in her expression or poses. |

Yeah, if you ever miss it, the user tausili on YT usually has the episodes up an hour or so after they air, or soon after.
I think I will begin a weekly ritual of critiquing the models one by one. Because, you know, I TOTALLY don't need to be doing a million and one other things right now. I will do it in call out order. Elina First off, will someone please explain to me what exactly was a 'first' about your makeover? I mean, there have been weaves before. Anyway, I really wasn't sure of it at first, but it definitely makes you less severe looking, and more versatile and feminine, as proved by your photo, which was just stunning, so brava. However. Something happened this episode which made me absolutely categorically sure that you won't win, which was them airring the coment about you hating your mother. Personally, I could care less whether or not you get along with her, but there will be a lot of self-righteous people who will for some reason take offense at that, as Brittany did, and I don't think they would give that edit to the eventual winner, for image reasons. But hey, kep rocking it while you're still around. Lauren Brie I love your look. LOVE LOVE LOVE. If Elina is the model version of Angelina Jolie, then you are Thora Birch, as I see a lot of her in you, and I see the CariDee comparison in that photo as well, and CariDee is right up there in my top 5 contestants ever, so that bodes well. Your photo was my favourite again this week, and last week I just flat out wanted to lick you, so your definitely emerging as a contender, both to go far, and to make me cheat on Analeigh. Although your really not showing much personality, or getting ANY airtime outside of panel, and before you rocked out last weeks shoot, you were the girl who I would forget, which is odd because you're so distinctive looking. I can't shake the feeling that the personality thing is going to be what gets you in the end. Samantha For some reason, I have problems remembering you, which is a shame, as you are so pretty, and you have a really nice softness about you in photos, while still being able to pull of fierceness. Your new hair suits you much better than I would have thought, which is cool, and should hopefully make you more distinctive in my brain. McKey You have the opposite problem to Clark, in that your mouth is just HUGE. Still, you photograph beautifully (I would have bumped you over Samantha this week), really, and your new look is SO much better than that gross red thing you had going on before. You'll be around for a while. Sheena You weren't featured very heavily this episode, but your photo was pretty, and you've turned off the hooch which is good, and your straight hair should help that. Also, I like the way you behave at panel, you're engaged with what's going on without being overly talkative and annoying. Not entirely sure why your photo managed to come above Marjorie's or Clark's, but whatever. Joslyn Oh, I just want to hang out with you. Your photo was weird to me, and I'm not sure why they didn't mention your leg, which seemed to taper weirdly, the way you had it posed. Maybe it got lost in the edit or something. But yeah, your fun, and in for a long time. Marjorie God, you are just so beautiful. I have no idea why you weren't called much higher this week. If it weren't for your timidity, I think you'd win, I really do, but your going to get sent home Top 5 or so, when they do some kind of commercial/spokesperson type challenge, as I can't really see you doing amazing well at that. Shame. Oh, and your new hair rocks too. Makes you look less sickly. Clark You're another who I thought would place higher based on your photo, although the judges didn't seem lke it as much as I did. The pose was cool. You look a lot edgier with dark hair; it really suits you, and you seem to be less of a roaring bitch now, so if you keep being pleasant over the next episode, I might remove you from my list of people I dislike. High praise indeed. Isis Good for you for being so up for the shoot this week! although you looked slightly in pain in the finished product. I think you are the most 'diamond in the rough' out of the girls, and I hope you hang around long enough to improve, as at times, you really are very pretty, it's just not coming across in photos for whatever reason. I really really want Tyra to offer to pay for your surgery upon your eventual elimination, by the by. That would be just incredible. Hannah Damn. Just when we got rid of Saleisha's God-awful hair, they go and give you a similar cut. Yours is somewhat less vile though, so happy times. I was surprised your challenge win didn't drag you a little higher in the rankings. I think you suffered more this week from the others being really good than from personally being bad, but that will take you out eventually, so step it up. If you can make it as far as a commercial or acting type challenge, you should do well, as you seem very personable. Analeigh Oh, Lordy, I was convinced you were going home from your edit this week, but I'm happy you're still around, even if it doesn't seem likely that you'll be with us too much longer. Your arms did look gigantic in your photo, although I found that kind of cool. I think Paulina hit the nail on the head when she said you maybe don't have as much potential as a model as they WANT you to have. It's Ok, though. You have my undying love, so feel free to drop in and marry me whenever it is convenient. Oh, and I like you blonde. Brittany Ah, the first victim of the dreaded 'pretty girl' syndrome, and the latest in Tyra'a apparent quest to cull anyone ethnic from the line-up. I don't really know what to say. I found you kind of dull, you were never going to get that far, I don't think, and your whole thing with Elina this episode kind of irked me. A fairly painless elimination for me. --- Other comments: I love how the show has gone so far into insanity with the whole princess thing. Self-indulgently awesome. Paulina continues to pwn as a judge. I mentioned CariDee being in my Top 5 ever contestants. The other 4 are Yaya (3), Brittany (4), Jenah (9), and AJ (7). Good makeovers this cycle. |

^ Hm, about your Elina comment. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't win - it seems like the obvious choices never do. But, I don't really think that their choice to air whatever issue she had with her mother had much to do with it. Maybe they aired it in order to go into another issue that'll come up later in this cycle, idk.
I DO know that the way they portrayed Whitney in the house last cycle completely turned me off to her and hey,... she ended up winning. |

Really? See, I loved Whitney from the very start of Cycle 10. It really is different for different people, I guess.
Lol, there is a very good chance I've just completely over-analysed something in the Elina issue, but it really did pop into my mind that way. |

Is last night's episode online yet?
Or does someone have a link to all of the photos? I can't believe I missed it! |

I hate that haircut. Ugh.
Elina's hair at first didn't look so good but at the photoshoot it was styled much better. |

T.T
I guess it's sorta expected. Her picture really wasn't that great... :( And what's up with Elina!? I hope this isn't a start of a downhill trend. |

^ I doubt it. Elina's too good.
Poor Isis ![]() Okay, seriously, Clark got called out first? LAME. I liked Analeigh and Lauren Brie A LOT more than Clark this week. But if Analeigh can continue this upward trend, I think she, Lauren Brie, and Elina will be the top three. |

Brief Overview:
Although I'm sad to say this, I do believe Isis' time was up. Like aforementioned, she wasn't really living up to her potential in photos or in person, which. I don't care for the way they eliminated Hannah, but I'm kinda glad she's gone. I don't like the way she flipped out on Marjorie and Analeigh for having a pity-party. Samantha, WTF were you doing with your dress? I do believe it was a nervous reaction, but it looked God-awful. I don't care for the way the designer overreacted, though. Elina, definitely my favorite. It took me awhile to get used to her new hair, but I think her face could work any hairstyle. I wasn't too impressed with her photo at all, but I can understand getting stuck. Joslyn exceeded my expectations a lot, even if she can't swim (STEREOTYPE LOL). McKey is growing on me, much more than I'd anticipated. I think her face could work any campaign. Lauren Brie, you know how I feel about you. f**king Amazing, you are. I could see you winning. I think I liked your picture best this week. Analeigh, I was surprised at how poorly you'd been doing in the beginning, because I thought you'd be stiff competition. I am glad to see you're improving, though, because you have enormous potential, and the best figure IMO. Clark, I've disliked you from the beginning, but you did pretty damn good this week. I don't mind you having a bit of cockiness, but try not to be such a c**t anymore. Sheena, I love everything about you, but ultimately I know you won't win. I'm worried you aren't versatile enough. Marjorie, you are the epitome of European fashion. If you don't win this, you'll have no trouble finding work because you are amazing. You seem a bit mentally unstable, though. Sorry for the changes in perspectives. |
