I made a DIV overlay for my myspace. Those are the only kind of layouts I use. I have had different variations of them since I first got a myspace. I never had a problem with them, even though some of them did cover the adds or didn't include a block button, as many div's on cb do.

But, this bitch started talking shit to me because her friend used to try to date my boyfriend and she is upset that he is with me. I blocked her, because I'm not trying to listen to that shit, only after replying to her letting her know that myspace fueds are for idiots and if she had something to say to me she knew my number and where I lived, that I'd even be more than happy to give her directions.

She then changed her name and status threatning to kill me because I am such a dirty whore. I reported her, because myspace is practically her life, if I took that from her I knew she would be upset. But, she got one of those "you have been reported for ......" letters and then reported me for not having a block button and not showing my ad.

You know what happened? She got to keep her profile and gets to change her name to a new slanderous thing about me every time she gets on and I lost all the coding for the layout I made. Is covering an ad worse than a death threat? I worked really hard on that layout and I can't get any of the images or coding back because I don't have the computer I made it. I am so pissed.

Is there anything I can do about this?

This doesn't belong in the Lounge, so I'm moving it to Designers' Cafe, as it wouldn't fit in MySpace Support because you're not asking for technical support.

Will be back to reply to your actual post.

Okay, that really sucks. I'd be really frustrated if that happened to me, but you did hide the MySpace ad and not include a block button. They usually aren't too strict on people who hide those, partly because there are too many user profiles for them to ever keep track of, but I think they do something about it when they get reports.

Of course the girl is more at fault here than you are, but meh, you violated the MySpace ToS, and no one behind MySpace is going to care what story you give them.

Basically, you can't do anything about it.

Thanks for moving it. I had no idea where to put it.

This is so upsetting. I always did save my layouts on my computer, but my ex took that computer in the break up and cleared all the files in it. So, every picture, every layout, every song, everything I had on it is lost forever.
Then there is this dumb ass bitch starting all kinds of shit with me for no reason. I never did anything remotely bad to her, ever.

GOD DAMN IT!

I understand I broke the rules and that's my fault, but why aren't they taking any actions against her? I think death threats whould be a higher priority than no block button.
I know she isn't actually going to kill me, she'd eat pavement if she had the balls to actually confront me, but myspace doesn't know that.

Yeah, no problem.

In case there's a next time (but I hope there isn't; that girl sounds.. O_o), you should save the codes to your own computer, as well. Or save it in a test MySpace's info.

You should definitely report her so she can't harass anyone like this again.

I believe you can actually have her put in prison for a death threat.

Have fun with that bit of information.

she did report. wink.gif

personally, i think it's because myspace doesn't give a shit. they'll peg you for violating TOS, but they know some 13 year old (random number) who spends her entire life on myspace will actually kill you just because some stupid boyfriend stuff.
they're more interested it their rules and keeping theirselves so popular. catch my drift?
i'm sorry about your situation, though. as somebody stated, you should definitely save your codes on your computer. if you're worried about them being lost again, find a free or cheap file host and upload everything there. :]

Quoted from Myspace TOS (I know, I have no life)

QUOTE
7. Content Posted.

7.1 MySpace may reject, refuse to post or delete any Content for any or no reason, including Content that in the sole judgment of MySpace violates this Agreement or which may be offensive, illegal or violate the rights of any person or entity, or harm or threaten the safety of any person or entity. MySpace assumes no responsibility for monitoring the MySpace Services for inappropriate Content or conduct. If at any time MySpace chooses, in its sole discretion, to monitor the MySpace Services, MySpace nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the Content, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate Content, and no responsibility for the conduct of the User submitting any such Content.[/i]

This only says that they may get involved (which probably means they won't).

QUOTE
10. Member Disputes. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other MySpace Members. MySpace reserves the right, but has no obligation, to become involved in any way with disputes between you and other Members.

And this says it has nothing to do with them.

I didn't read it extremely thoroughly, though, but what I did scan I couldn't find anything that says they'll shut down a person's site for threats/other such stuff. :( sorry.

I believe you can report someone for cyberbullying.

Most school districts will actually get involved for cyberbullying. Mine will even suspend you, so you could put thought into that. I have no idea where you'd report to them though.

I've reported a lot of those kinds of people and MySpace actually deleted some of them so yes, reporting her might be a good idea.

Report her again, she can't do anything now.
