Do you drive the speed limit, exceed it, or drive below it?

Normally I drive 5mph over the speed limit but if I see a long straightaway on the highway I go about 80, and one time I was going a 100 and didn't realize it and went and slowed down. I felt like I was in a Bugatti Veyron but I wasn't.

Oh and whats up with all these slow drivers? Are they trying to save gas?

I usually go the speed limit simply because i have my permit.
Still my mom flips the shit if i go a little under and overall is just constanly on my arse about things.

Yeah, generally 5-10 mph over the speedlimit. I try to stay closer to it at night, though. On the interstate, I just stay with traffic. I can see pretty far ahead on the highway I take to and from school, so I'm more likely to get up to 80 then. But I try not to stay there or go over.

It's supposed to waste more gas by going over 55. But it's really hard to stay at 55 in most cases.

I speed, a lot. I used to speed all the time, but then I got a bogus almost $200 speeding ticket for only going 10 over.

I think the worst I did was an 80 in a 25. I swear it's not as bad as it sounds. The road was 55mph and it went down to 25 because there are curves. I just didn't slow down fast enough. Then it goes back up to 55, so...

I can't go that slowly, but I have seen people around here driving it. However, there's 5-6 lanes on the interstate I most often drive, so it's not a big deal just to go around them, provided they're not too dumb to stay on the right.

I find in general that cops wont pull you over for going 5 over the speed limit because I've passed so many and I didn't even bother to slow down.

Like a few weeks ago I was coming out on the Hollywood/Highland exit (for those of you who've exited there, you guys know it gets really crowded especially when there is something going on at the Hollywood Bowl) & there are 2 lanes. I was in the right one & there was this slow ass car in front of me so I merged to the left one. Then the slow car merged left & stopped all of a sudden. I was going super fast & slammed on the breaks. I like was really close to hitting the car in front of me. But it was weird because I wasn't scared at all. My parents were the ones freaking out! lol

Yeah the only time i've gotten a ticket was going 21 over the speed limit. From then on I try to stay within a reasonable speed. So I think they just go after really excessive speeding.

I usually try to but im still all new at driving and im always afraid that something is going to happen.
And in some parts its especially hard because they are doing construction on road (which happens to be underconsrtuction during the worst time when its tourist season) so you can go that fast and i always have asstards trailing me and its frightening knowing that they could hit you if you have to make a sudden stop.

not to mention today some girl came out from behind a wall, not looking to see any cars come and i almost f**king hit her because she was to dense to look over.
Not only that she wasnt even startled and just kept walking.

I got really lucky a couple of weeks ago, because pretty much everyone on the road was speeding even though everyone knows there are always cops on it. Anyway, a cop was suddenly behind me and I was about to freak, but then he went around and pulled over the car in front of me. I'm not too sure what law they were breaking aside from the speed limit, but at least I didn't get a ticket.

Are red light cameras getting pretty common everywhere? Those things scare me too.

No one here knows what an accelerator is, and when you brake a lot you waste gas, so that doesn't make sense. When I drive in the city I only get about 35 mpg, as apposed to on the interstate, where I get 40 mpg.

Dumb people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

Well when you don't use an accelerator consistently it does waste gas in most cases. Also I own a license because I'm so stupid my sole purpose of driving is to run everyone off the road and ride everywhere with my right signal on.

I drive pretty slow at times.
Especially at night. I remember i was going 30-40 at a 55mph zone
but no one was around
it was out in the middle of nowhere
it was about 12am coming from a friends cottage
and i had to be the Designated driver XD

I go the speed limit, if not I'm usually doing five over. As for gas conservation, I avoid accelerating rapidly or pedal-to-the-metal type accelerating, that guzzles up a lot of gas. And I do a lot of coasting around the city. I hit the gas pedal for a few seconds and let it glide the rest of the way unless I want to speed up.

it really depends on where im at...

speedlimit 70--I'll drive maybe 80...
Speedlimit 55--I'll drive 60 or 65..
speedlimit 25/30--I'll drive maybe 40ish...

all depends on if I'm drivin a car, truck or SUV...

Not quite to the extet of my friend, however, who tends to go 100 on any road with more than one lane, and then swerve at intervals between lanes, and yell when we nearly die.

However, I find it incredibly annoying when I;m in the car with someone, doing maybe 10-15 overthe limit, and yet there is STILL someone riding or tail and wanting us to speed up. I enjoy slowing right down to the limit, in those scenarios.
