I'm going to overcome my urge to close this for spamming, for the sake of light conversation. ;)

I lived in the OC, not in a nice house though. It was far too expensive for that. The apartment I was living in was $2500/mo for a 2 bedroom. That's part of the reason why we moved from Irvine to Pittsburgh. Of course, I lasted a whopping year in Pittsburgh, since I hated it so much.

Oh and I am so glad that I don't have to sift through posts and posts of Trish nudes. That was terrible, guys. LOL

$2500/mo? Damn. I am so appreciative now that I'm going to school somewhere real estate is really cheap. $360/mo for a 4 bedroom, and that's on the higher end of student apartments.

I'm going to be paying $550/month for a pretty decent apartment near downtown houston on campus.

What?! Don't you mean $360/month for 1 bedroom in a 4 bedroom apartment? No way can it be $360/month for a 4 bedroom apartment... ohmy.gif
But if it's $3600/4 bedrooms, that's actually pretty pricey because my friend's apartment in La Jolla near UCSD, my college, is like.. $2800/month and it's a 3 bedroom apartment, but it's really spacious.

I wonder how much it costs to live in a trailer... eyebrowes.gif

Yeah, after about the first few months I kept thinking, "this really isn't me." Then the winter months hit. I'll admit now, since much time as passed that I started drinking a lot. The whole environment really affected me terribly. Not only was it a downgrade, but I grew up in southern California. In retrospect, how much of a dumbass was I to move to a place like Pittsburgh after 30 wonderful years in southern California? haha

I relocated to the south. I figured it would be something different. I'm in the Nashville area now and surprisingly, I love it. I can do without the humidity but it is absolutely gorgeous here. Job market is good and Iz was placed in an amazing special program for autistic children. Real estate is cheaper than California and actually HAS value, as opposed to Pittsburgh.

I do miss California though, daily. I have a feeling that one day I'll end up back there.

Irvine was entirely over priced. My one bedroom in Orange was $800/mo. Same size in Irvine would have been $1200-$1500.

My friend's parents bought him a condo-apartment thingy and it's only 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. It's pretty nice though, but since it's in La Jolla (EXPENSIVEEEE), it costs $395,000 or something like that. I was like WOAH WTF. :[

Yeah, I don't think my pretty big 5 bed/6 bath house was much more than $400,000...oh, Georgia.

But it looks like to stay in the dorm I stayed in last year this year would be ~$520 a month. Interesting how that works out, because the apartment's waaaaaay nicer.

Aw, well that's good that you're a lot happier now! Pft. Lucky you -- got to grow up here. Imagine growing up in Pittsburgh. No one suffered like I suffered. stubborn.gif But I'm way happier living in L.A. Still very jealous of people like you and Joe. *Shakes fist*

Yeah, it took Joe and I FOREVER to find a decently-priced apartment without it being ghetto. laugh.gif I'm not going to lie... rent is still WAY pricey compared to Steven's and Nikki's places.

My new place is Ł156 per month, excluding bills, obviously. Cheaper than anywhere my friends are living by like, at least half. I love my landlady, although Nottingham prices are f**king high, at least to rent.

STFU AND WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW?!

AYE, so like, how does a trailer get moved? I mean, if it's like a house, how the hell does that get on a freeway and is moved to another city or something? Wouldn't that be extreme wide-load ?!

I wouldn't say that they're all in my 'cluster of friends,' James. Even some of the people I don't like, I appreciate the fact that their posts aren't all boring. Boring posts make this forum boring.

Also, what do you constitute as spam? Someone saying something that you don't like? What if a bunch of people are having a civil discussion, enjoying posting on the forum? Is that spam?

Is that spam?

He's trying to tell you to take yo spammy butt to VIP lounge, but you're not even an OM/OD/OP, so some of this topic-moving has been useless.

Nicki - No I haven't seen one on the freeway. I know I've seen a Bungalow (a really small classroom) on the freeway before, but that was a loooonnnggg time ago. I assume that the trailer would be bigger and wider than that bungalow I saw.

And boring is subjective. Tedious repetition of old jokes and tiresome bitching make it plenty boring enough to me.

Spam to me is something which is adding nothing of value, again subjective, to the forum/thread it's posted in. I could move anything you post which I considered to be spam to VIP if you would prefer, but that's not going to do you much good personally.

If you want to remove all degree of subjectivity, that really WOULD kill this place once and for all.

How is our posting hurting this site or community, in threads such as this one or other ones that have been closed? How would this site be negatively impacted should they remain open?

Oh yeah, can I get my warning level reduced? It's been quite some time since I've been warned and I do believe my behavior as of late, while not perfect, has been deserving of a warning decrease. Thanks

I'm basing it on the fact that if I came here and saw a certain type of topic dominating, I wouldn't want to stay. Which, frankly from your perspective may or may not be hurting the sight, but whatever, lol. I'm not the only person to have expressed such an opinion. That's how I base my judgements on what I close/move/whatever.

If that lessens your fun, I'm sorry about that, I really am, but get your warn level down, and take it to the VIP Lounge, and there won't be a problem. I don't care if you post it, but post it where it's meant to be.

Let's have a popular vote. Anyone can vote. If the people that come here care to vote, and they share your perspective, I'm sure there will be an overwhelming number opposing my opinion.

Also, as much as I'd like to obey what you say, I can't exactly post in the VIP lounge. Now I know you knew that I couldn't read or respond in there, but I figured you'd also know that I couldn't create a new thread in there.

Steven, it really IS NOT my problem if you can't post in VIP, and that certainly doesn't mean you get to use the Lounge however you want to make up for it. Obviously I know you can't post there, which is why I suggested you get your warning level down.

Also, a vote? On what? Whether or not people should subjectively evaluate what they think about something?

iono bout u gaiz, but I have been keeping on topic -- trailers -- so hopefully this remains open!

But Seriously though, I've only seen RVs driving around. I'm assuming that RVs are smaller than trailers considering some trailers are similar to a small house. But the RVs I've seen aren't those huge ass ones, just regular sized ones.

To be fair, we have a REALLY good deal. Our landlord inheritted the houses, and he makes his real money elsewhere, so he just keeps the rent really low so that they'll be rented quickly and he won't have to worry too much about them.

And Michelle, she doesn't care. But how's your weird and kind of pathetic bitterness over the fact that she was mean to you on the internet 3 years ago coming along? Still got the fire in your belly?

You know, I wanted this to stay open, even though it technically started as a bashing/spam topic. There was some pretty good conversation going on for a while but unfortunately, as is typical of cB the majority of the time, it's turned into yet again a pisshole for petty arguments (and no one, including James is innocent).

Please try to keep the conversation going without the crap. Please? Pretty please? Like super duper crazy hyper please?

Two weeks post warning.

You know, I've been thinking about doing the whole studio thing again. I did that for a while and not only was it cheaper, it was actually quite cool. I had dividers up so that Iz and I had our own little private areas. It was sort of loungy, especially with my red velvet couch bed (which is really comfortable).

I lived off of Irvine Center Blvd and Alton (I think, it's been a while). If you know where Tustin Market Place is, I was a few miles up off of Jamboree, going towards Irvine Valley College.

I lived in Costa Mesa for a few years. I used to love Costa Mesa. Much cheaper than Newport Beach but pretty much the center of the OC universe. I SO miss ocean breezes. I miss seeing my friend in LA. She lived in an apartment off of Sunset.

Ahhhh karaoke sushi bars and bellinis. Miss those too.

I'd like to say that this is coming from someone who doesn't frequent these boards and is distanced from the "inner" circle of friends, enemies, drama-connected members, etc. on these boards (at least, during the past year or two):

You're on a power trip, man.
You close down topics, crack down on people in the good name of "Forum Guidelines", yet give in to pointless squabble and engage (if not provoke) in insult exchange and spam-fueling.
Last time I checked, THAT was forum misconduct and spam.
Is that how someone who has gained the title of "head staff" conducts him or herself here on CB?
You shouldn't throw your weight around like a thread-Nazi and expect your actions and yourself to be respected when you're following suit of the very things you chastise.
Ease up or act according to your title that you hold up so dearly, because you don't seem to be well-liked or respected from what I've seen.
If hypocrisy is the heart of what makes a great Mod/Staff member, then step down 'cause there's a long line of great, potential candidates behind you.

I have no personal vendetta against you, as we've never dealt with one another - I'm merely speaking out and pointing out an observation I've made, from an "outsider's" point of view, as you pointed out that a concern of yours while controlling spam is to not drive others away from these boards. I have to say that if I were new to these boards, I'd be more turned away by YOUR behavior than a bunch of regular members having a riot over some dark pudgy naked Vietnamese girl's trailer home.

And to be on topic:

Does anyone know if trailer home community sites are usually gated or protected by some kind of border?

Fair enough. But frankly, I'm going to continue to act in what I see to be the best interests of the forums, whether or not that means every individual respects or likes me, becuase frankly, I've long since ceased to strive for that from the people I don't respect in turn.

You are, however, completely fair about the whole getting caught up in stupid crap, especially in the last couple of days. But I've said my piece now, given my reasons, and I'm done with it.

One of my ex's grandfather lived in a really nice trailer community. I can't remember the exact location, but I want to say that it was in either Riverside or San Bernardino County. It was definitely gated and very well protected.

The "trailer" was huge, bigger than many 3 bedroom apartments I've seen and was permenantly fixed to the ground.

It seems that there is pretty big stigma where "trailer parks" are concerned, but I have to say, the one I'm thinking of was awesome.

I don't think James is much of an issue, really. The James phase is going to fade and there'll be a new forum roach. And if you haven't noticed, James isn't a give in type of person, so yes, your post was certainly a slap on the wrist for him.

I'm not going to lie and say I don't find it amusing, of course I do! The forums are dead!! And if it means bringing Kathleen back, then yay!

Oh, I'm not sure if you know Kathleen but she used to be a freaking regular on here.

Kathleen, you have a nice butt! I saw it on your cB profile! >< HAHA!
