you can make a bg color using this code
<ilayer name="scroll1"><div id="scroll3" style="width: 650; height: 425; background: put ur color here ; overflow: auto;> i bet u can play around w/ that and it should work |

can you display the code you used to make your xanga border? if it's a div then just add a background-image tag in there.
