Am I reading to much into this?, \seemingly, I over-analayze alot. Options

okay, here we go.
short story being, my ex texted me [the one i've been trying months to get over] and all he basically wanted was to see who I was dating now. And of course he asked how I was and stuff, but why would it matter to him who I was dating? We're ex's. What do you think?

Previously, he told me that it would be better for us if I just moved on, and so I've been trying, and everytime I think I have, he pops up and texts me. I don't get it. It seems to me that he thinks it was a mistake saying that. What about you? What do you think?

ex's in general tend to do that kind of thing. just when you're about ready to move on they all of a sudden pop into the picture again. it's happened to me before too and sometimes it makes me wonder if they have some kind of device that alerts them when we're getting over them...?!
i say don't think much about it. just let it go. a guy friend once told me that ex's are curious to know who we date after them simply because they want to know if the new guy is better or looks better than them. this could be true in this case... so just don't think about it oo much unless he gives you a sign that he wants something else from you.

and each time its been someone different.

I basically agree with this. Don't pay him any mind unless he wants to date you again or something.
