I thought OMs had bigger inboxes? Like 400 message capacity.

I'm positive.

Yeah I used to have a crapload of PMs from my modding days, and when I stepped down, I lost almost all of them because my inbox size became insignificant. So that sucked.

We should have a veterans title or something neat like that!

Like if you've been here for at least a year and you have to have so many posts, like 6,000 or something and you must keep like a 4.0 PPD. Slightly higher than an OM status, and you get better perks like a bigger inbox :D

Er, well I stepped down A LONG time ago, so I don't remember if I lost them or if I deleted them.

Either way I had to delete a LOT of PMs quickly because I was expecting some new ones at that time.

Yep, just archive them.

I think the Veteran Member title is good, although I think it should be two years minimum. One year isn't all that long.

Well they sentimental, but not that sentimental for me to sacrifice space on my hard drive. >:O

Or to be honest, I never thought about archiving.

Nonetheless, gotta make a Veteran title for people like me! Two years sounds good. That's a nice portion of cB's lifetime.

This deal is wack for older members.

I would completely agree if all of mine hadn't gotten deleted by Suzzette anyway,

I still think you should expand the inbox capacity for former mods. Because it sucks to become an OM and suddenly have an overflowing inbox. That covers the majority of the OMs anyway, and in particular the ones who would actually have this issue.

Now that you mention it, former mods should be able to just keep their inbox size the way they had it before. For life.

There's no way to do that unless you make a "former mod" group which we are not going to do. >.<

The veteran title is something I'd be willing to look into, though.

Dani, you could make the former mod group a secondary group, surely? That way they would still display as OMs, but would be able to have the increased inbox space. Or would that not work?

Isn't it the same thing as making a veteran title with increased inbox size?

Former mod =/= automatic veteran.

I suppose it's possible that I could make a secondary group for former mods that served a certain amount of time maybe..

While a former mod group might be nice, perhaps just a Veteran group with increased inbox space and access to admin cp would be all we need. Keep it simple.

^ For the love of all that is holy (or even unholy), please stop spamming.

The reason why this doesn’t appear to be among discussions is because it ultimately rests upon one of the administrators (and I hardly visit the chat thread a lot lol) to actually do it. Admittedly, this fell off my radar.

Current breakdown of maximum storable messages:
Member – 160
Official Member – 200
Official Designer – 210 (weird lol)
People/Design Staff – 300
Head Staff – 400
Administrator – 600 (and I’m at 93% :[)

The differences aren’t as striking as I thought that they would be.

I’ve sent a PM to both Dani and Dee about this just a bit ago. We’ll need to settle on the increase amount, make the group (which is pretty easy to do) then “upgrade” those who were on staff. I guess it could be up to par with the whole cbstaff domain, which you do not lose if you leave staff.

Will keep you posted.

So I guess that means Mentors had 400, right? I'm pretty sure that's how much I had.

Once I hear back from them, whichever one of us (DDR) does this might need a tester. I'm thinking it might not be a bad idea to make this a secondary group, so that "Official Member" still shows up as your title. That is, if that is the desired name. "Former Staff" looks sort of cheesy.

Ha ha, you right, "Former Staff" is pretty cheesy, even though that's what they do on the facebook group.

"Retired," ha ha I dunno, I think it should be different from "Official Member" though.

I don't think there needs tobe a seperate title. I think it could just as well be a secondary group, to give the privalege without a change.

For one thing, we ALL know that ex-staff aren't always angels, so what do we do if they get to 20% warning, when we normally downgrade OMs? Shift from 'Former Mod' (or whatever)to 'Former Mod Who Has Been Kind Of Naughty'?

If it's going to be like a cBstaff subdomain, it won't matter, so no worries, ha ha.

And I still think there should be a seperate title. For fun. Which is plenty justification these days.

To answer your question, James - they'd revert to "member" with a big fat bitch of a full inbox. haha
