really quick question.
i'm trying to position my background (on myspace, obviously) with pixels:
CODE
background-position: 148px 200px;

the horizontal positioning (148px) works, but the vertical doesn't.
it this a myspace glitch, am i doing something wrong (although it looks pretty self explanatory, what's to mess up?), or is it just a coincidence?

absolute positioning of backgrounds has always worked for me (both horizontal and vertical). there's not another background property you're using that might be messing it up?

nope.
the only background related things i have are image, position, and scroll. i tried it on a different myspace with only the background and it still didn't work.

how bout using the top & left attributes, something like this: (it's worth a try)

CODE
background-position{top:148px; left:200px;}

you could also use relative and then put 50% in the margin-left. then put like -400px in the left. or however big the image so that you can center it. just adjust the -400 to wherever you want it to be.

that's what i do

unfortunately, neither of those would work. in CSS, the syntax is selector { property: value; }. there is no selector "background-position," as there's no HTML tag for it; it's just a CSS property.

you also can't relatively position a background, because if you use position:relative; then it will position the entire body relative to the <html> tag (which will move the entire profile).
