Have you ever gone to a party that you were pumped about for so long, and when you get there, it totally sucks? _dry.gif

I went to a house party the other night that had been planned for a month, and I was really excited to go. It was really horrible, and I felt like I wasted my entire night.

Any experiences?

That's why I don't have parties. I always have the fear that it is going to be totally lame.

You can always take back the night by leaving and doing something else though, which we did.

I went to a house part last semester where only the athletes were invited and wow. It was lame. People just sat around and talked while music played in the living room with no one in it.

Yeah, it happens a lot. Which is why it's a good to avoid imagining an extravagant, out-of-the-box party experience. Just lower your expectant standards a bit and that way, you won't be disappointed.

I like parties sometimes. I tend to not like huuuuuuuge ridiculous parties, just because I don't really like the idea of getting/being trashed with people I don't even know. Mostly, I dig I smaller parties, like 10-20ish people that you are good friends with.

uhhh yeah.
it's so funny cause you get all dressed up or something and when you get there, it's not all that great.
the only fun thing is telling your friends who didn't go that it was a great party.
haha.

I agree with you. Unless I'm out in a club or something, I don't get the point of having abunch of extra people around.

I've got a similar thing tonight that will be the first time my group of friends will all be together since we started college, which should be awesome, but two of them have just broken up, so here's hoping it doesn't get awkward.

I'm so glad that this year I'll actually be able to have small parties with friends. When living in the dorms, the only option really was to go to big parties with lots of people I didn't know, and I'm not really into that. Frat parties, in particular.

I have been to lots of parties that ended up lame.
But, I have been to more than my fair share of crazy insane parties, too.

I haven't really been to any bad parties. Probably because I tend to go to ones that are with a small group where everyone knows everyone well and is comfortable.
