The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (directed by David Fincher) is a movie based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story of the same title, about a man (Brad Pitt) who is born an old man around the age of 70 and grows younger every year until he ceases to exist. The movie also stars Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton, and is to come out in theaters on Christmas.

I've read the short story, and I have to say it's pretty awesome. I can't wait to see how Fincher brings it to life. =]

Tell me what you guys think! Looks interesting? Boring?

This reminds me of Margaret Peterson Haddix's book Turnabout. I want to see it since I like that book's plot.

I do agree that, generally, the movies do suck. But the "The Devil Wears Prada" movie was overall much better than the book. I'm hoping this movie will be like that.

That's a general opinion...

This is a pretty neat concept, although I'm not familiar with the original story. Probably worth watching, although I'll probably rent it, as I can't see any of my friends wanting to see it = (

i'm slightly confused; in the story, his mental age is the same as his physical appearance, but in the trailer it seemed as though his mental age was consistent with his actual age, and opposite to his physical appearance (or am i wrong?).

that in itself is enough for me to want to watch it, as i love comparing books to their movie counterparts.

Oh? I didn't notice that in the trailer... all the more reason to check this movie out!

Wooooah, lies woman lies. The book was far superior, the movie just happened to not be terrible.

Ehh, this movie looks...interesting. I probably won't go see it though, perhaps I'll wait until Netflix.

^ Hahaha I thought it was better because they made Miranda a little bit more humane! But it was also worse because THEY DIDN'T MAKE CHRISTIAN HOT ENOUGH!!! I was so disappointed at that. xD

How so? The creepiness/mysteriousness of it all creates a romantic environment?

'kay, bumping up this topic because of the new trailer.

Just gotta say, LOVE the use of Arcade Fire's "My Body is a Cage" in the trailer, the climax coincides at exactly the right point to bring the message across perfectly. Not to mention that the lyrics fit the trailer to a tee. I loove it.

Didn't you think Brad Pitt looked THAT MUCH HOTTER after having seen him old and wrinkly first? SO f*ckING HOT. And that's a lot coming from me, because I never found him hot before.

The movie's pretty good as a standalone, I liked it a lot, but there are so many differences between the short story (which I read for AP Lit beforehand) and the film that I was pretty surprised. The girl sitting behind me kicked the back of my seat when young!Brad Pitt was riding his motorcycle in his black leather jacket and shades. _dry.gif But she apologized afterward so it was okay.
