I made a new a layout for my site. Link is in my sig. I think it is MUCH better then the previous one.

Tell me what you think. I am still undesided.

And yes, I know that the title bar things are a little bit too long in FF. I only care about how things look in IE! :P

I think you should make the header smaller in the left tables, it extending out further than the tables doesn't look right. I think I know what your were trying to pull off with it from other sites I've seen, but it just doesn't look right on your site. I guess it would look a lot better if it was an image where it faded off at the end, like it does in your header. Your advertisings are larger than your table as well, if there is any way you could change that, that would be good. I like the links the best. I wish you used more colors than just grays and teal.

what did you old layout look like?

Ya that ad at the bottom doesn't fit. I am going to take it out.

It is a better layout, but it's so.. plain? Ya know, just being gray and white. It still looks nice though. It looks simple and sophisticated.

you should code the layout for IE and firefox. really, it's more professional. however, the only thing off in firefox (for me) is the news heading is longer than the table.

i don't know if you know this or not, but you can set different styles for IE and firefox. all you have to do is add a _ for it to read in IE, and then another normal one to read in mozilla, so to fix the heading, you would just have to do this to the width...

CODE
width: NUMBERFORFIREFOX#px;
_width: NUMBERFORIE#px;

catch my drift?

other than that, it's really...simple. it's not entirely bad, it's just not very appealing.

the font looks eh- pixelated. i can see it being all smooooothh in my head. xD

it's simple but still pretty ok.

there are so many ads though. :[

can't you limit the ads? when i scroll down the layout all i see is ads.

Which font looks pixelated? The banner? It is smooth on my computer. lol

I only have an ad on the side, and then 2 at the bottom of the index.
I think those 2 at the bottom have to go though. They do make the site look cheesy.

EDIT: Oh ya I see what you mean about the font. It is a little rough. But I think it looks fine. I wanted it to look sophisticated, but not fancy. Ya know?

it looks simple (in a good way). very professional looking. everything looks good... except for the font you used on the titles... it looks too bunched up/pixely... other than that i think it looks good.

oh I think I know what you mean. On one of my computers, it looks fine. But on my old one it looks a little bunchy. I thought it was just my computer. I will fix that.

Ya I get it. But why would FF read the width differently?.... *cough*ihatefirefox*cough*

Thanks everyone for your comments!

that's your opinion, but do remember that a lot of people use it. also, the majority of the time, it's IE that messes stuff up. whistling.gif
anyways, whether you like/use firefox or not, you should always code for both. it's not like it's a really hard process or anything.

hm. i see what you mean.
the big thing about this is the ads- i hate going onto a site and there are like 5000000000 ads.

it makes the layout look bad... cramped..overflowed...x[ get what im saying? cause i don't even get it myself. >>;

ok. well I only have one ad along the side. does it really make everything look bad?

grr I HATE it that stupid "pimp-ur-space" sites that have a million ads and popups and the owners freakin BUY the whole site get thousands of hits. While other sites like mine, where everything is hand-made and I spend HOURS on get barly any hits. I am sure that I am not the only one that feels this way...

EDIT: I fixed everything so now the title bars aren't stretched in FF.

well when you say one; five actually pop up. i understand it 'keeps your site running' but ... ferreal now. :[

oh yah. it counts as 1 ad, but it has 5 ads on it.
is it really that bad?...

Yeah it's nice, simple and classy. I like it a lot more than your old one. I dunno the banner i guess i feel like it's missing something, like a brush?
