Why is Apple charging so much for so less? Options

So my Ipod earphones, the one that comes originally when you buy a brand new Ipod, stopped working. So I decided to go to the Apple Store to replace my earphones. I asked the salesman there where can I get Ipod earphones, and he directed me to it. I saw it and grabbed a box of the Ipod earphones. To my surprise, I saw the price on it at $29.99. I mean seriously? I mean $30 ain't nothing to me, but for some cheap Ipod earphones to be charged that much is beyond ridiculous. I mean they don't even last long, and they fall off your ears easily. So I said f**k it, and decided to go to Best Buys, and I bought a pair of Phillips earphones which was half as expensive, and worked 5 times better than the Ipod earphones.

and I had the same thing happen to me 2 months ago. I recommend skullcandy earbuds. They are much better, and are usually 15 bucks.

lol I'm using phillips earphones and they work so much better with my iPod. I lost my ipod earphones (which I fucked up anyway) a while ago, so yea I resorted to these. I actually had a pair of sony ones, but I think I lost that one too, so the phillips one I'm using right now are Tony's.


Apple usually overcharges anyways. I mean, seriously, the plastic film cover for the iPhone is overpriced, considering my boyfriend got a better quality one which I think he got for either the same price or less (with shipping).

I even bought my macbook at my college because they had a better deal than the one at the apple store, and that's INCLUDING student discounts.

Well the thing is, since the iPod CAME with FREE earphones, you'd think apple would at least charge less for them, since apple can afford to give them out for free with iPods. Does that mean if those earphones were not packaged with the iPod, it would be $30 cheaper? most likely not.

But anyways, the point is that Apple does have crap accessories, but they charge a greater price for it. You can get Sony earbuds for cheaper or maybe the same price, but of much better quality. Damn, I wish I could use my samsung earphones with my ipod, but they have a different jack, since the samsung earphones are for my cell phone. :[ And they really good stereo earbuds too.

In addition, I think apple overcharges for mac os x leopard. I mean, apparently my college can afford to sell them for $70, but they $130 at the apple store. And I don't think you have to be a student to get it for that price. It didn't say any different price for non-students, which is pretty weird, since they're the same thing. It's the same exact box and everything.

I never liked their earphones, I remember using them when I would listen to my friends ipods during food fundamentals class in high school. I got a zune later, I liked their earphones a ton better. They cost 30$ if you lose them. Of course when I bought my xps laptop dell sent a pair of earphones that were the exact same as the zune ones, so I have two pairs

My Ipod earphones works fine and I had them since Christmas. But yeah that price is to high. When you pay for the ipod, you're paying for the earphones too and everything else that came with the ipod.

But anyways, the one I am "using" is a pair that I borrowed from my boyfriend, who got it probably 6+ years ago. He had it since I first met up, which was freshman year of high school. So I don't know if they still sell it? But the point is that it's cheaper but better quality!

Yeah, my iPod earphones busted awhile ago and I was pissed and they're like $40 (CAD) here at FutureShop so I said screw that and bought Skull Candy ones for like $5 cheaper and they're much better anyways.

I usually get new earphones right away when i get a new MP3/ipod because the earphones they come with are uncomfertable and fall out way to easy, so i usually go to FYE and get there Skullcandy earphones, there a lot better and cooler looking.
Still around 30$ but you get what you paid for, unlike the Apple brand earphones.
