Hello everyone! Just discovered this forum when browsing for a suitable place to post my current concern. Bit of an unusual way to introduce myself, but I'm too frantic to go about this in a more typical way right now. tongue.gif

Okay so I'm going on holiday in a couple of days and I thought I would be in the clear period-wise but now I'm really not so sure and I absolutely can't be on. blink.gif Does anyone have any preventative measures they take in extreme circumstances when they really need to delay their period by just a couple of days? I'll try anything that doesn't require going to the doctor! Vague herbal remedies or anything you're convinced works? I've been trying to make myself stressed and starve myself for the last couple of days in desperation because I've heard these can help even if they are slightly on the unhealthy side...

Wow this is long. Okay, thank you for any help! :)

although i understand why you'd want to prevent your period from coming (i've been in this situation way too many times) i really wouldn't do anything to mess with the cycle. the only thing i can think of is to use birth control? but i don't use it and i'm not familiar with how the pills work so i can't really go in depth with that...

but stop with the starvation and stress thing... it IS unhealthy and you shouldn't do it.

just deal with it like the rest of us have to =T

what exactly are you going to be doing that you absolutely can not be on it?

would you really trying ANYTHING? i mean, take physical advice that might affect your well-being from anonymous people youve met on an online forum that you only recently joined? i would suggest otherwise

I wouldn't advise trying to delay your period's onset. The only really effective way to do that would be to use birth control pills, but those don't work right away; you have to take them way before you get your period.

Just use tampons if you don't want to feel the ickiness of wearing pads, and bring Motrin or Midol with you to relieve your cramps. That should do it.
