i think that createblog should set it to where instead of only being (dis)approved submissions..

i think they should make it to where if we submit something, it will go into a certain area, and if more than 5 members approve it at any time, it could be accepted. because these staff members are WAY to picky..

that was an image i tried to submit, it got rejected.. for having way too much of a low quality (from what that staff member said, she meant "there was too much distortion around the font") and said that "the font doesnt match"... but i created the image to have a sharp look, i shouldnt have to make something so blurry just to get it approved... and i was the one who worked on the image, if you want to judge my font, you go make your own graphics...

It does kind of suck.

It's tiresome when people post all these topics saying "that's what I was going for". It's almost as if it's an alternative to why it should be approved.

Life isn't always fair. You don't get accepted for everything. That being said, not everything is going to be eye catching. I'm not fond of your idea for member critique at all. Not because it's ridiculous, but just for the sheer fact that it wouldn't work.

Well, except you're submitting here and when you do so, you run the risk of having something rejected. That's why we have Design Staff, people who have experience in design.

That isn't to say that your idea is bad, although it's been brought up before and has never worked out (I'll need to do some digging to find the topic I'm thinking of).

Also, I hate to say it, but the image is low quality, in my opinion. The font you used isn't so bad, but "is my" is darker than anything else. It just doesn't make any sense. I'm not seeing a lot done with the image either, other than some text and some over sharpening. I don't mean any offense, I'm just stating my opinion.

To me, it looks kind of..... over-sharpened, but at the same time blurry. o_O I like the cropping angle, though.

I personally don't like the member review idea because there will always be some people who don't have a lot of experience and can't tell the difference between something that's high-quality and something that's just plain bad. All you need is five of those people to get something that should've been rejected accepted.

Ehhh.. It really depends on which mod accepts the layout. Having this go through members is tedious. It's just going to cause more trouble. I believe a ton of the layouts here are shit whereas some people think they're all awesome.

My advice to you is, when something gets rejected that you disagree with, post it in the Showcase Booth. Other people will view the topic and give you feedback on the image or layout. And if you get people saying "I think it's amazing, I can't believe that was rejected!" then by all means, PM a moderator (design staff/head staff/admin) and tell them, "Look, people like this, please approve it." If there really is support for it, meaning people really like it, the moderator will probably go ahead and approve it for you.

That sounds like a member review system that would work pretty efficiently in my opinion. :3

But there is too much distortion around the font. It looks like you saved it as a .jpg in MSpaint. It's not that it doesn't have potential, the quality just isn't good. There's probably a better way to achieve the results you were going for. The capitalization's kind of haphazard too.

Well, like everyone else has said the image IS low quality. CB isn't your personal portfolio. If you want a place where you can put up what you want and still have people see it get an account at Deviantart or something. I would just suggest that you take peoples advice and try to improve on the image.

And again, as I said before, the showcase booth forum is a great place to get the opinions of members here. As I said, the members can give you good criticism, and if a bunch of people DO like it and disagree with the mod who reviewed it, it has a good chance of being accepted.

the picture quality is bad. it's blurry and pixelated. the font quality is bad. it's blurry and pixelated. nothing about it is crisp, nothing is clear, nothing is good quality.

Your graphic was basically taking an image like that ^
Only worse.

Putting some red text with a stroke on it, and turning it in a bunch of places.

There's not much more you can say about the poor quality.
"Not Good" is basically what it is.

Take a look at other graphics, none look like that.

Seriously, that is the best advice. Post this in showcase and get some member feedback from your peers. A lot of resource types don't visit Feedback and you are probably missing out on some well needed constructive criticism.

If you feel the need to bitch and complain, go submit your graphics elsewhere, where the standards are subpar. If you're smart you'll listen to other suggestions and try to improve.

Listen...

I've had tons of graphics rejected by the mods or whomever had been cleaning the que at the time. There were times I was really frustrated because of it, but you know what? I got over it and tried even harder next time.

The Mods aren't picky for no reason. They're picky because they have to be to maintain the quality of what is posted for the public so they can, in turn, use our graphics.

Try harder next time, spend some more time on it, nurture your graphic like a newborn, take it to dinner, buy it something pretty. Then, and only then, will you have a better chance at seeing that 'graphic accepted' message in your CB inbox.

And remember:

What's not accepted, makes you stronger.
