Do you ever ask for changes to be made to the dishes on the menu? Like, I'm a vegetarian, so if there is like, a really good pasta dish or something, but it has chicken in it, I'll ask for it without, for example, or occasionally change an accompaniment...

It's such a hypocritical thing of mine, as well, because it used to bug the hell out of me when people did it to me at work, because I'd have to go into the kitchen and tell the chef about it, and then there would be sulking, swearing, etc. if it was a busy night.

I used to do it all the time. But since then, I've gotten more lenient in what I eat and tend to like the dish coming together as a whole. I do, however, still ask for extra's. :D

I don't eat out much, because I'm really iffy about other people making my food. (I've had food poisoning before, and ever since, ehhh...) but when I do go out I will sometimes ask for things to be changed. It's usually something pretty simple, though, like no tomatoes... and stuff.

Sometimes, I'll ask them for nutritional info, lol.

I order everything without any sort of dairy products.
Cheese is disgusting, sour cream is disgusting, just milk is ok, but everything else made from it is disgusting.

yes, whenever i eat out, i try to be as healthy as possible...so i ask them to take out any extras (like sauce, cheese, condiments, etc.) and i try to substitute sides with veggies whenever possible.

I usually just take it as it is and give the meat to friends or whoever I'm with. I hate making things more of a hassle for restaurant workers because I know how much it sucks when it's busy.

People at the restaurant i work at make really strange requests and such, but when you put it in the computer and stuff it's not too bad. like 86 the chicken sub salmon, or 86 the seasoning, or something like that. . .

what i do find annoying, is when all the dishes come out, and the person takes one bite of their meal, makes a big fuss about it, sends it back, wants it re-cooked.
we re-cook it, it's fine. it's def done medium rare bitch.
and again she'll send it back, saying it was well done.

that's when i get pissed off. or the managers/cooks get pissed off.

but subing the sides to a dish, or changing the dish around is not a big deal,
i'm actually suprised when people get it the way it is on the menu these days.

I will never EVER send anything back. I'll just go get fast food after if my meal wasn't pleasant.

No.

I'm not a picky eater, and I also appreciate an original dish in its entirety, even if I don't particularly like one of the ingredients. I'll try it at the very least. If I really don't like it, I'll order something else entirely.

I chose that entree for a reason, if they have something I won't like i just won't choose it. I only make changes for my father or something.
I'm not picky when it comes to the food I choose to eat.

i usually never change anything. i barely ever ask, but to take out something small. i'm not a picky eater, like at all. my guy friends love going out to eat with me because i'll eat whatever is offered and i don't talk about how much FAT this is going into me. unless its bad or it stinks, i'll usually eat it if i'm hungry.

Haha, yeah I tend to do that almost everytime I order something. Since most of the things on the menus are inedible to me since I'm a pescet, I will ask for shrimp instead of pork or shrimp instead of chicken. _smile.gif My mom likes to ask her order to be taken back if its not crispy enough, though. Its pretty embarassing.

I have so much sympathy for waiters and chefs, etc. ever since I started working in the food service industry. All I do is host at a dinner theater, and people always ask me for coffee when all I have is iced tea and water in my pitchers. IT'S SO DANG STRESSFUL.

So back on topic, I usually don't have to ask for anything changed. I'm really not picky at all.
