So many freshman in my school are dating seniors, most of which or 18-19.
most of my grade is 14-15.
What's the biggest age difference for a 14 or 15 year old that you would find somewhat normal?

personally, I find it kind of creepy for someone 14 to be dating someone almost 5 years older.

At 14-15, one year max actually. I'm just thinking how I probably couldn't like a 14 year old (and I'm 16) either because of younger looks or maturity differences.

i say that you shouldn't date more/less than 3 years over/under if you a teen.
Now if your 20+ you should only date 3years under, and how ever years you want over.

Well...I'm 15 so I guess I'm one of the bunch. I think one year younger, same age, or one year older is acceptable. Anything beyond 5 is a little too much.

For a 14-15 year old, its 13 to 17. Past that and its creepy.

There's lots of seniors at my school who date young girls. The thing that I find gross, is the fact that they don't date Freshmen girls to have a steady relationship... they date them because the girls look up to them and are willing to do things to try to make it work. The whole thing makes me uneasy.

UNACCEPTABLE.

SENIOR'S GRADUATING, FRESHMAN'S IN HIGH SCHOOL. SENIORS ARE MAKING OUT IN THEIR COLLEGE DORM WHILE THE OTHER ONE IS WEEPING ON THEIR KNEES CRYING AND SHIT.

really, it's not acceptable in high school. college's full of experiences, many people should be and are getting the best out of it. 14-15 years should lay off their relationships due to maturing experiences and personal differences grows upon each person as they progress through their phase in college/high school.

life's different at different places.

One or two years above them, or one year below them, seems acceptable. There've been a couple of relationships in my highschool with freshmens dating seniors, and those usually wound up really bad. The age and maturity level difference was too wide of a gap for someone who is 14-15.

My friends and i were just talking about this the other day.

We realized that our parents are very far apart when it comes to age.
So, we were thinking: While, you're in school, its odd to be dating somebody 3-5 yrs older. But when your out and just trying to earn a living, I guess you dont really notice. I seems so much more..normal? I think.. I mean, ofcourse im not that old yet. but its what we think is true

I'm 15.. I have tons of freshmen friends who are dating seniors. It really doesn't matter to me IMO. As long as their maturity level is the same, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Nooo Tina D: *Protects you from teh ebil seniors*

An age difference amongst parents is acceptable, because they're of legal age, not 14 and in highschool. My parents have a seven year gap, but they met way after their 30's, so that seems normal to me. After you turn legal (18 in my state) and/or are in college does the age gap start to fluctuate from 1~2 years to 4+.

lmao. uhhh, guilty. i was a freshman dating a senior. but i met him my 8th grade year, so he was a junior? we were dating like all of my 8th grade year and most of my 9th grade, but then we broke up because i "changed". SURE. it wasn't really bad, he was a good guy to be with and he was loyal to me up to a point, haha. i learned my lesson though especially with trust.

so to me, from personal experience, don't be a freshmen dating a senior. don't be dating anyone too far from your age because your views and perspective on relationships are very different. like my current guy, his view is very different from mine. he doesn't like me communicating with other guys because its "not good", but i do it anyways because they're my friends and i love my friends, plus i'm too young to be settling down so quick. something like that.

it's whatever the people themselves think is appropriate.
to me though, i think that freshmen should nt be dating seniors or guys 2 or more years older than them. it's just for thier own protection because guys at that age are looking for something a lot more pyhsical than these younger girls are comfortable with, and the guys know they can manipulate these "young sluts" (yeah my guy friends use this term frequently. i don't like it but it's reality) into having sex with them or something like it.

just date your own age! trust me you have PLENTY of time to loose your V-card and get preggers. stay young. you'll regret it.

for a girl to be dating a guy who is a lot younger than her has a lot to deal with. guys are always naturally like 5 years younger than their real age..as in their maturity level to clarify myself. for girls, they can be the same; naive and innocent.

honestly, age is just a number, it's more about the two people who are involved. if the guy is a pedophile who is 35 dating a 15 year old, that's different. if a guy is like 25 and dating a girl who is 17 or something, but they met properly, and things aren't awkward, he's not a pedophile or anything, and they connect on a certain level, it's all good.

i'm not saying this because i'm dating a 25 year old, ahaha but it shouldn't really matter unless someone is in danger of getting raped. imo. :)

true..
you have a very good point.
plus if they are just starting to see each other you can never trust other people too much.
especially if they are that much older. they could be using you because your young & gullible.

I'd say a four year difference should be the minimum. I'm only 15 myself, and my friends and I don't exactly look for antyhing serious as most girls our age do. So when it comes to older guys, we just prefer them because of their very easygoing appeal. It's better that way for me. But if it were anyone else I wouldn't advice it. High school is a really sensitive stage, no one should be putting themselves through so much stress to begin with.

Relationships + High School = No-No

4 or 5 year difference? It's really only about a three year difference (12-9=3). I see nothing wrong with it.

Probably not older than 17 for a 14- or 15-year-old. The maturity levels of a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old can have a big difference.

Public school wise? I would say only a year or two. If a freshman dates a senior, then more than likely that senior is going to go to college and that means he/she is going to break it off.

well my sister is a freshman, and she is dating a senior. the age difference isnt to bad, but the bad things are if they would have "sex" he could get charged becuase he is conisdered an adult becuase he is 18. but some good things are, older guys are usually more mature, nice, and loyal, and he can drive ((for me thats good becuase he takes me everywhere, long story) we grew up together b4 he met my step-sister) and another good thing is, his hot younger brother who is my age. :D
so all in all i dont think its to bad to date someone 5 years older.
