a couple of weekends ago, i totally pigged out and gained five pounds
i've slowly been losing the weight off and m now two pounds less than i was before gaining all the weight

the thing is, i am defintely fatter than i was before; my belly bulge is bigger!
also, before, whhen i lay down, my stomach would cave in a lot; now, even when i weigh less, it barely caves at all!

how is this possible?!

Possibilities:

> You're weighing yourself inconsistently, which makes for an incongruent reading. Weigh yourself once per week on the same day at the same time.

> You've lost muscle mass.

> You've lost water weight.

> You've made these observations after eating, and the bulge isn't from body fat.

> You lack sleep, which increases cortisol secretion.

> You are a mutant.

haha, i'm not a mutant! ;D

but thanks, i think it is probably from lack of sleep...i get about four hours of sleep a night >.<

does it matter when i sleep? like, can i just take naps during the day if i hve to stay up?
or do i have to get sleep at night all in one sitting to decrease the cortisal secretion?

One sitting. A sleep cycle begins with 4 stages of non-REM sleep before they reverse and REM sleep commences. ACh, a type of transmitter, is activated in the pons structure of the brain, which in turn activates the medulla during REM sleep. This is the most restorative portion of the resting state, and you need it, or else you will die a horrible, horrible death. In a volcano. Filled with lava. And fire-proof crocodiles.

So, get enough sleep at night.

Goodness, you need more sleep. I usually get around 7 hours a night. Congrats on losing the weight. Mine won't come off, lol.
