so i was reading an article on cnn and it said that a national average of 4 bucks a gallon shouldn't be ruled out later this year.

the national average right now is 3.53 and rising.

it's ridiculous.

not just san francisco. it's basically the whole bay area in california in general. luckily i go to college elsewhere where it's like $3.60 here. but when i go back home to the bay area on the weekends, it's close to $4.00.

Haha, I thought this was an advert when I saw all those leetle dollar signs.

It's even worse in the UK, it's around two and a half times the price Americans are currently paying.

What makes it worse for the US, is that the distribution costs are knocking food prices sky high as well. We've noticed groceries over here are increasing in price, but it's worse for that in the US.

"This year's record high gas prices, coupled with a slow economy and the mortgage crisis, have had a cascading effect. A person making $9 an hour needs to work nearly seven hours just to pay for 15 gallons at $4 a gallon, according to CNN.com's gas calculator."

This is why we need Obama. You know why? Because we have our own damn oil that for some effed up reason, non of the prior presidents ever cared to open. Instead they'd much rather take oil from another country then tax the ish out of us for it. But Obama's gonna change all that :)

we're not paying as much as other countries are paying. and if you were to actually break down the process of turning oil into octane gas that you could use for your car, i think $4.00 is pretty damn cheap.

I guess it's time for me to get my bike out and be like those dumbasses who bike down the interstate.

There were places up north when we went snowmobiling that would charge $8 a gallon.

I need a different car. A half hour trip uses up about a 1/4 tank of gas for me. My family doesn't want me to get a car, though, because 9 months out of the year there is ice and snow on the ground.

lol wtf. NO WAI, your Jeep gets that much? The Lexus gets like.. maybe 20 mpg. It sucks, but that's okay. Do you get reg, plus, or premium?

Good thing I'm not driving - I don't have to pay for gas. But once I get a car by the end of summer, AUGH gas prices. pinch.gif btw we went to Mobil the other day and it ws only $3.81/gal for reg. unleaded, but the Arco and Valero was 3.83/gal for reg. WTF. Mobil > Arco and Valero in terms of gasoline quality!
