I've just recently finished reading the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It was absolutely amazing, and I couldn't put it down.

I recommend it to anyone, although the events in the book are very tragic.

Has anyone else read this book? I know it's been a bestseller.

I saw the movie and I'm about 1/4 of the way through the book. The movie actually followed it super well so far.

I think the author does a really nice job of describing all the seriousness without it being vulgar or anything. And you do see the childlike quality of Amir at the beginning even though he's a weakling that you just want to slap...

Khaled Hosseini is an absolutely remarkable storyteller throb.gif this book was wonderfully written-i also liked the movie, but didn't love it due to a couple of scenes that i thought would definitely be in it (but the director did a good job of including what he did)

his second book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, was another great story of which i think was better than The Kite Runner. regardless, they are both two of my most favorite books :)

gosh, there is such history with this book

so our teacher recommended the book and the whole class went out in search for it. so all the copies in the libraries ran out. then i requested it and didnt get it till two months later. by then, everyone was moving on the a thousand splendid suns. then i got my book but at such a bad time, and i wasnt able to read it. then it was overdue. and man, there is a much longer story.

basically, havent read it yet but really want to.

ohmygosh, it is indeed SO amazing. i love how in The Kite Runner, hosseini focused on the relationship between two males and in A Thousand Splendid Suns, he focused on two women so we know that he can write well from the two perspectives.

This has been on my list of books to read over this summer for a while now. My mum actually just recently read this, and has been nagging me to read it this past week, so I may grab her copy.
