QUOTE
The Vatican's newspaper reported that for the first time in history, there are more Muslims in the world than Roman Catholics. All groups of Christians still outnumber Muslims, according to 2007 estimates from the CIA World Factbook.

Why... they're pagans. The religion consists of mythologies and they pray and idolize symbols and statues happy.gif
Plus their Popes are laughable

Please. Not only is that simply untrue, a religion that leads people to riot and threaten violence whenever someone "insults Muhammad" in ways such as printing political cartoons is far from being better. People can worship their God or gods in whatever way they so choose, but to get offended by stupid shit effects our freedom of press.

If someone is moderate, enlightened, and progressive Muslim, cool. But "taking over the world" is not even remotely close to being a good thing.

Believing in one prophet is not less of a joke than believing in another.

Well here in America we have the freedom to insult who ever we want. Unfortunately Christians wouldn't stand up for the prophets like Muslims do. If they did, this country would be more respectful to/about religion in the first place. mellow.gif

What I'm wondering is... how true are those numbers?... How do the FBI know that I'm Muslim? How did they count me in? What if there's people out there that don't boast about their religion/belief system?... Then they're not counted for.

But I thank Bush for this good news, if it wasn't for his stupidity, Muslims would probably be within the same numbers prior to 9/11.

What? Yes, we should have the right to insult whomever we want. Radical Islamists are interfering with that right. I could care less what you think of Catholicism, but I don't think you can say things about other religions without realizing that yours is equally as ridiculous. Christians wouldn't stand up for what prophets?

Way to edit. There are more Muslims in the world now, and those calculations have nothing to do with numbers of individuals.

All I added to the edit was my thanks to Bush. Are you upset that Muslims are on the rise? happy.gif
Also Islam is no where near ridiculous as Catholicism or Christianity. The idea that Jesus became God is ridiculous. The idea that God says not to worship idols such as images yet Catholics idolize statues, images, crosses, Virgin Mary etc... is ridiculous and blasphemous.

You don't make any damn sense... you don't even have a proper opinion about religion in general other than negativity and attacks on religion as a whole. So why are you upset at somethin you can't understand? Just move along and ignore it...

What is a "proper opinion"? Opinion is subjective. I'm not attacking religion as a whole; I personally feel that it's ridiculous, but that doesn't mean that my opinions are any less "proper" than anyone else's. Being irritated by your unclassified statements like Catholics being pagan and Popes being ridiculous is not even remotely the same thing as being upset at things I don't understand.

Meanwhile, rather than trying to refute what I say, you respond with irrelevant statements about religious tolerance, which is moot when most of Muslim culture isn't very tolerant of anything else.

Menawhile, rather than trying to refute what I say, so respond with irrelevant statements about religious tolerance, which is something a good many Muslims don't seem to get.

A proper opinion in my point of view is basically having an opinion that actually makes sense. I can claim that a Catholic is a pagan, not because I dislike them and just want to call them pagans. But because they idolize multiple objects.

I can claim that it's ridiculous that Christians believe that Jesus became God when God specifically told the people never to put their faith in any thing other than God. Yet here comes the New Testament and all of a sudden God contradicts himself? The heck? God is perfect, he's done nothin by mistake. The idea of Jesus dying, rising into the sky, then becoming God is the mythology of the Egyptians. The same mythologies that Romans believed in, the same Romans who slaughtered the Jews and the Muslims and burned their holy buildings and their texts.

I can make my opinions as long as I have proper reasoning, as long as I know the obvious, which other may or may not realize and call it ignorant.

Islam is perfect. You just don't agree with their Holy ways because of your Westernized views. And I don't have a problem with your views because I know you don't understand Islam. It takes a lot of patience and experience to understand why Islam is not socially modernized. I respect them for everything they stand for, especially their Holy culture which will never die. Their generations and newer generations are strong in Islam and that'll NEVER change.

Anyways...

I read the article, but again... I wouldn't take that article too seriously only because there's people who are not counted out there. Granted that Islam not only exists in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Mexico, South America, America/Canada etc... but did FBI just go to every single home in this world to get that number?

I can only assume that FBI is tryin to strike fear into the people, since America and Europe are tryin to coin Islam = Terrorism.

Good, now you have actually provided reasoning.

I have to go to sociology, but I'll be back later.

i wouldn't count on any religion for NEVER changing or staying forever. despite the rise of islam over catholicism, you forget that there is a significantly growing rise to atheism. i'm pretty sure that it might take a couple of centuries but it'll happen when there will be a small population of those with faith and an even ever expanding population of those who feel that there is no god/prophet/messiah/whatever and they're on their own.

paperplane couldn't have said it any better.
