Uhh. "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" haha, that's the only book that I've read every year. Otherwise, Edgar Allen Poe, ftw.

Hmm off the top of my head... Shirley Jackson's short story "The Lottery" was pretty thought-provoking. It's not my favourite, but it's definitely somewhere up there.

QUOTE(Angeline @ Mar 29 2008, 03:52 AM) *
I like a lot of poems by Whitman. I don't know why, I guess I like antiheroes better than traditional heroes.

i agree with you on that...it was his literature that even first got me into writing. <3

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller. That was an amazing book. It had everything and was so, so funny and entertaining.

Only fictional book I've read and enjoyed was "The Hobbit". I don't really like fiction books, I tend to read more non-fictional now a days.

loool.gif  (I'd like to consider Otep [just the word "poet" rearranged] as literature. She's closer to poetry than anything else, but those are lyrics.)

lit·er·a·ture –noun
1. writings in which expression and form, in connection with ideas of permanent and universal interest, are characteristic or essential features, as poetry, novels, history, biography, and essays.
2. the entire body of writings of a specific language, period, people, etc.: the literature of England.
3. the writings dealing with a particular subject: the literature of ornithology.
4. the profession of a writer or author.

lyr·ic –adjective
1. having the form and musical quality of a song
2. pertaining to or writing lyric poetry: a lyric poet.
3. characterized by or expressing spontaneous, direct feeling: a lyric song; lyric writing.
4. pertaining to, rendered by, or employing singing.

Now go read a book thumbsup.gif
