I am pretty sure there isn't another topic like this
if there is please forgive me!

Well me and my friend recently found out that the answer to life, the universe and everything is 42.
Were not sure how, or why but apparently it is.
And we've been seeing the number 42 everywhere.

Link To Evidence 1

Link To Evidence 2

Link To Evidence 3

Now theres a lot of math involved so i only understand so much of it.
But you can learn just about everything in those Link To Evidences.

It turns out the number 42 was also in the bible quiet a lot.
And 42 has a lot to do with religions.
But its all pretty confusing, so i just read so much of it every few days.

QUOTE
Our galaxy weighs three times 10 to the power of 42kg - a number written as 3 followed by 42 zeroes, which has echoes of author Douglas Adams's fictional answer to the question of life, the universe and everything in his series Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I know i didn't post much info. on this.
But i just thought it would be interesting, and plus, theres quiet a lot to post

Well i think its more of a "How life began" thing.
But i am not really to sure, because i was wondering the same thing when i heard about it.

But by it saying

is the only reason i think so

I wasn't sure about that, i almost put it in the lounge but i thought this would be more of a debate because...well we can debate about it, and plus its KIND OF a religion thing.
But if someone feels its more for the lounge, please move it. happy.gif

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is overrated tripe.

Jesus the Jew on a crucifix. Get this shit out of the debate forum, please.

Uhm... you're playing the game of numerology. The possibilities are near infinitely if not infinitely.

it's not 42; it's 23. duh, jim carrey said so ;\
</end cornyness>

and if there's any number that would take superiority, i think it'd have to be phi aka the golden ratio, if you believe it.

I somehow find this a bit awkward to believe. But there's tons of similar theories out there, eh, we'll never really know what to believe.

Is this seriously a debate based on something from Hitchhiker's Gide to the Galaxy?

Actually, the numerical answer is 3238.

365*365*666/10000*100=3238

6 numbers.
21 digits.

6/21 rounds to 3.

3 6s is 666.

This mathematically shows what year the earth is coming to an end. And if thats not the answer, Phi is.

I'd usually be surprised by things like this, but I've stopped. I just personally think that forcing numbers into nature is getting old. I have to admit, though, that I myself tried to link numbers into certain situations, but thankfully I stopped. All the numbers that were forced into 9/11 also irritate me. :P

^x2, you lost me at 3238. Hahahaha. I think the whole number thing is just coincidence. Don't force an answer when there was never a question.

I don't even know where this should live, but it certainly doesn't belong in Debate. So for now it's going to park in The Lounge.
