what does it matter if they knew or not? it was you who did it. you shouldn't have done something just to appease your idiot friends. in this case, i guess you deserve the consequences.

Pretty much what synkro said. Why the hell would you want to shop lift for your friends? To look "cool?" or to just please them? That's absolutely ridiculous for you to get at fault just for your friends. Maybe you should take this situation as you should never steal shit for your friends or even at all. And besides, why did you have to shoplift? Why couldn't your friends do it when they're the ones who want the stuff? You deserve to be punished and blamed.

what penalty did your friend receive for knowing? if you really want your other 3 friends to be punished as well, you should just speak up and tell the cops.

I'm thinking you could use some different friends. If the stuff you were stealing was for some of your friends who didn't get in trouble, speak up. If any of them were just there, then it should be you getting in trouble.

I really don't think the officers will give a shit. No matter how unfair the whole situation may be, you were still the one who got caught. Next time, don't let your friends pressure you into doing the stealing, let them handle the possible consequences themselves.

Well the officers aren't going to care that you were stealing for your friends.

You stole, she didn't, you should be the one in trouble.

Exactly. If your friends want something, tell them to get it themselves. It was rather quite stupid what you did imo.

Hope you learned a real good lesson.
Peer pressure sucks.

You committed a crime. Your friends knowingly allowed your behavior to go without reprimand, thus, making them an accomplice to the crime. Oh well. rolleyes.gif

Why did you shoplift for them?

If your going to shoplift, first of all, dont get caught. Second, dont get other people stuff.

Be greedy. Make them get caught and suffer.

Friend: "Hey, steal that shirt for -- *SLAP!"
You: "Yeah, I slapped you."

how much (in dollars) did you stole? B/c if it $300 or more, it considered a felony.

It's still your fault. You did not speak for yourself. You did not tell the whole story. You waited until last minute to tell everything.

Your friend could had been trouble because she WAS involve with the crime with the thought in her mind knowing you were doing an illegal activity.

I believe you'll receive more punishment for not telling the whole story.

1. Unless, you were under a lot of pressure that you weren't thinking straight, then that's totally a different story.

2. OR you were just covering up for your friends as well and you knew they could get in trouble.

remember, NEVER cover up a crime for your friend, girl. it doesnt matter if they're your friends or not. it's really important that when it comes to crime, spill everything out. your friends will decide if they want to continue your friendship or NOT. if they dont, screw them because they are NOT your real friends since they dont give a shit about your protections, rights, and safety. if they really understand you and know the whole situation, they would come back to you with a MUCH better attitude.

and here's another thing, i'm not bitching at you. ;]

it's really common sense and i'm not trying to drag you down the drain.

I totally understand being a teenager means fitting with people in high school, but do not let yourself down for others. it's only going to hurt you, your pride, record, reputation, and the life ahead of you. you're so young. take care of yourself.

thats kinda weird. getting in trouble but not taking anything. (in your friends case). but pretty much dont do stuff like that just for friends, its not worth the trouble, but all in all whoever is in trouble...well is in trouble and i dont think your friends will turn themselves in, but i wont judge you for anything here, but good luck w/everything.

I'm a duty manager for a well-known retail store here in the UK - and I loathe shoplifters. We lose no end of stock to sticky-pawed kids with little regard for authority or decency. Not only does it put the prices up for everyone else, but it can become an addiction and smacks of poor self-control, low self-esteem and pure bloody-minded stingyness. I hope you're both fined an extortionate amount of money; you'll get no sympathy from this corner of the world - you're both just as guilty and you both should know better.

Well, what goes around comes around (aka karma). Yea you got caught, but you should know better than to shoplift in the first place. Don't you hate it when you lose items that you KNOW you had with you, only to find out that your friend or some random person stole it and is using/showing it off in plain view? Doesn't that piss you off? Or when someone steals your food and eats it? That sucks D: Okay back to shoplifting items

Yea I worked in retail and there were things that were stolen and such. I know it sucked for the managers because they're in charge of patrolling and telling the associates to keep a watch out. But even then, the managers are the ones who usually deal with the issue with lost items, since they're CSL (customer sales lead) for their shift. :[
