I was asked to create a website for a family friend, and she wants some things done that I have never done before. Here are the list of things I need help with:

QUOTE
- password protected website
- ability to upload videos
- individual family pages, where they can create their own profile and post information.

Can someone recommend a tutorial to accomplish these task?

That's a tall order, and one I wouldn't recommend attempting to create from scratch. My advice is to look for a good content management system, spend the time getting used to it, and learn how to skin it so it looks nice.

Drupal has a huge following, and that means lots of support. There are tons of add-ons, including individual profiles (which comes included), and probably your video upload feature.

There's also Dolphin, a lesser-known free CMS that creates a community, but I'm not sure how easy it is to skin or how much support is out there.

You might consider looking around at different content management systems and just choose the one that's closest to what you'd like to use.

Thanks for your good intentions, but I was actually waiting for the original poster to respond back to let me know if it helped. No need to bump the topic, and no need to remind mods to close topics - we can handle it on our own. :3

No hard feelings, just letting you know. ;)
