okayy this might seem like a gross topic, but i just turned 15 and i have had my period for about 2 years. i have never worn a tampon in my life because i'm afraid they will get stuck up there haha and also because i don't feel comfortable putting them in. i've always been using pads. the thing is, i am an internationally ranked ballerina...i dance with boston ballet (their youth company) and i go to intensive programs at other ballet companies every summer. the point is i wear leotards and tights all the time which are always uncomfortable when i have a huge pad! i have a really heavy flow so i don't really know what to do...any suggestions?

I'm a dancer too......
I say just try tampons, honestly. They're not that bad. Sure, you may be scared at first, but you'll feel MUCHHHH better when you actually start using them. They're SOO much easier. How do you do your splits in pads? blink.gif

The good thing is, thanks to our modern day tampons come in many varieties and shapes and sizes and stuff. You'll be sure to find something that you're comfortable with.

Good luck thumbsup.gif

thankss capdancer...

do you do ballet?

because i am in an intense program where we do insane jumps, leaps, turns, and weird movements where i always just wondered what would happen if i had a tampon on!

ahaha & for doing splits. i don't know. they always work. we usually do "oversplits" with mats for a portion of the classes. my legs can usually split to about 200 degrees so a 180 split isn't that bad with a pad. =)

i play volleyball (with the whole spandex thing going on) and yeah, definitely not cool.

i think you should try tampons. and maybe after a couple of tries if you decide you dont like it, switch back.

it never hurts to try. shrug.gif

I've only used pads before but I changed to tampons. It's a little weird and uncomfortable at first but once you start getting use to them, they become really comfortable for movement.

yeah definitely go for the tampons
as long as you have a good size you won't even feel it
and it wont get stuck up there.
i can't think of a time where i heard that had happened
so i am 99% guaranteed you have nothing to worry about.

but get a good brand
dont get the cheap ones. it may be financially convenient but your vagina is precious.

treat it well

Try the teen ones at first, they're smaller. But for god's sake, ditch the pads. It won't get stuck, and it'll be way more comfortable.
