If we were to start a campaign to save the world, where should we start? Obviously, a lot of people see there are a lot of problems in the world. So, out of all of them, what do you think is the worst and humankind should tackle it right away?

Poverty? Famine? Global Health? Perfect the First-World countries so they can help others? Or bring the Third-World countries up to date? Make one world power? Disease?

Where would someone start saving the world?

I think i would choose poverty because it is often the root of all the other problems. But vice versa, too..i guess.

Where would someone start? 0.o

Here in America. Socialism placed upon super powered nations could easily help the world 200 times over. Let's pray that Obama turns out to be a socialist :D

Super powered nations... they're too damn money hungry and selfish. They're the world's problem and will always cause problems.

I really hate Mrs. Clinton and all her supporters who couldn't recognize communism even if it took over their country.

At the governments of every super powered nation.

i think we need to focus on everything. people are so concerned about world power and who will rise to the top, that we as a country are losing focus on what is really important. screw the folks in iraq we need to be home fixing the problems right here on american soil before we worry about other countries problems. poverty and sickness suck and we are after all AMERICA and we need to get back on track. i feel that if we dont do something soon our country will fail.

Unfortunately our economy is dying yet politicians keep sayin that our economy is great. In the world of technological technicians... there's been many companies who have laid off hundreds of their employees. Fortunately I free lance (contracting)

i think a good place to start would be prejudice/racism and all that jazz. because i think that if we can deal with one another first and learn to get along first, we can do better things together as a team. without the corniness.

I don't think there is one set topic where we can all begin with. I don't think this is a matter of tackling problems one by one. I believe that saving the world should be more of a correlative group effort. In other words, I think all topics should be focused on, by different groups of people, since, obviously, we all have our own problems. They're all just as equally bad because they will affect different persons in different ways.

Our economy isn't nearly as bad as everyone seems to think it is. We had estimates of a big time stock market downfall (like a couple weeks ago it was supposed to occur), and we were supposed to fall into a recession or at least get very near. Unemployment/stock didn't do nearly as bad as predicted and we came no where near reaching a recession. Our economy has for the most part been a staggered rise/fall, ultimately rising more and more each year.

Disease. Unless it's sexually contracted, I don't find it fair to anyone who gets ill because health care may be too expensive for them and they end up dying.

Thank you.

So true. It's funny because the news was like, businesses were reporting low sales, whatnot, and that Americans weren't spending enough for Christmas which hurt the economy. I was LMAO because I went to 5 different malls and the average time it took me to find parking was a good 20 minutes. And when I sat in the parking lot, a bunch of people walked out with bags and bags of things. The same was observed by my friends in California, and Massachusett. Low sales my ass.

Also, I was keeping up with predictions of a recession because of my Mom's work. It was a big no show.

So CONTRAST TO WHAT TAMA-ON-CRACK WAS SAYING, politicians and economists were predicting a RECESSION, not that our economy is doing great. Were you on Mars when this was happening, man?

So please, enough with your conspiracies, Tama. There are a lot of people on CB who will actually believe what they read here from an outspoken individual (such as yourself).

And another thing, just cuz politicians say it, doesn't mean everyone believes in it. People do use their brains sometimes you know. Whenever I read something you posted, it sounds like you think everyone but you is an idiot or that they're brainwashed. LOL.

^ LOL (News?) Watch C-Span... you'll get a better understanding, not half assed News.

Not everyone in America is a middle to high class American. Just because you and your friends across America claim to see so many people at malls doesn't make a difference, nor holds weight.

There's been many people who went from the middle class to nearly if not already lower class.

There's people losing jobs left and right, Toshiba, Comcast, Bellsouth (before AT&T took over) Mitsubishi etc.. all laid off "THOUSANDS" of employees Nation wide (some world wide) Hundreds of employees per based location.

On top of that, the real estate industry is goin to shit. No one's buying, no one can sell. New homes that were recently built are too expensive.

Do you realize what happens when the real estate becomes shit? That causes a chain reaction of lay offs and companies folding. This effects contractors and their construction crew, engineers, land surveyors etc..

Why do you think there's all this talk of tax cuts?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming our economy has been the worst, but it seems for every point it rises, it then drops 5-10 points.

Stop thinking on a small scale of shit... the bigger picture is right under your big, fat nose.

Defaming me is quite laughable. Lets see your attempt on your next post lol
Also I never claimed that people believe our politicians in terms of the economic issues. Re-read my post, you fail.

The majority of Americans are middle class. Why the fuck should we cater to minorities, when we clearly have our own issues and things to work out? Just seems that I don't know, the majority should be the focus.

Their fault. Dumb decisions. Lack of a college education. W/e.

So? Thousands, let's say 10 thousand? That's like 1/3000th of the American population. .0003% of America. Cool!

QUOTE

Dumbasses bought real estate and houses that they knew they couldn't afford. AMG LOW ARM'S! THAT MEANS IT'LL STAY LOW AND IT'LL NEVER RISE TO A RATE WE KNOW WE CAN'T AFFORD! Again, that doesn't effect the majority. Economists argue that the sub-prime market is going to crash, and that it's a huge support of our economy. Equally as many argue that there's going to be stability and our economy will fix itself, as it's done in the past.

I'm all for fending for one's self. That's not to say I think we should just f**k everyone over, but I hate when people become reliant on the government to help them out because of their dumb decisions. I also hate government intervention in non-necessities. IMO the government should be here for basic needs i.e.:

Defense
Basic Education
Infrastructure

you can't help people who won't help themselves. we aren't talking about helping people who are in real need. we're talking about wasting our valuable time to help people who screwed themselves over and are too lazy to fix their own mistakes.

people have to learn to fend for themselves at some point. i don't mind giving people a hand, but i don't wanna drag them around for 30 years

You are SOOO YESTERDAY, it's not wonder you can't keep up this conversation. This situation with middle class high class has been the case in America since her inception. The only major difference now is globalization <3. Do you need me to elaborate?

You know what doesn't hold weight? You and your conspiracies.

Oh God, you sound like a broken record. With you being so smart you should realize that all this is a part of the business cycle right?

You got that from C-Span right? I was watching two weeks ago about the recession scare, well... again, it's a no show. There's too much controversy about it coming or not anyway. Quit freaking out, you'll scare the kids, honey.

Fat nose? Really orginal.

Anyway, give me some stats to show what you're talking about. Are you comparing the US with other countries when you say the economy drops 5-10 points? Which is it? 5 or 10? Give me something substantial here.

QUOTE

So that wasn't you saying that politicians tell people the economy is great? What is the point of making that point if you don't mean to say that people believe in politicians. See, you failed English.

Wait, what are bickering for again? Saving the world or our economy? I'm lost... lol. If it's the latter, the world influences us now more so than we influence it. We need to adapt and it, too must cooperate. If we slack, they have to step up a little. With globalization, if we go down, we're taking everyone down with us.

I recommend you take English courses again before bragging about speaking 2 and possibly understanding a 3rd language.

Honestly, I only read the first two paragraphs and I'm assuming you're 12 years old pretending to be 30? Anyways get back to me on your reply when your grammar is readable, please. =\

where is your debate? are you just going to ignore her points? her grammar is plenty readable, you're just looking for excuses to not respond. she's one of the best debaters you'll find here, i'd love to see a 12 year old as intelligent as her, it would be a first.

don't bother coming in debate if you aren't going to read a whole post before you try to bash them. it's annoying, makes you look silly, and against the rules.

if you can't debate her then just admit that and shut up already.

I'm sorry but I will not even have a convo with someone who's grammar is poor. I don't have tolerance for that.

Plus it wasn't bashing, she really types like someone who's in 4th grade. Stating the facts isn't bashing... The truth hurts, deal with it.

what the hell are you talking about? this thread isn't even about christianity.

i simply said you should read her whole post for before trying to bash her, because i'm pretty sure she's read your whole post before attempting the same. grow the f**k up and stop whining and dodging debates. if you were really consistent you wouldn't have had this whole convo with me, because you refuse to have conversation with those with poor grammar remember? i have worse grammar than her. or do you only refuse to do that when it benefits you not being able to respond to a debate?

what the f**k are you trying so school me on christianity for? i'm atheist. idc

anyway, your distracting the thread away from the fact that you can't answer her response. so we can just stop here and let the people who have something to say continue on.

I recommend you take English courses again before bragging about speaking 2 and possibly understanding a 3rd language.

Honestly, I only read the first two paragraphs and I'm assuming you're 12 years old pretending to be 30? Anyways get back to me on your reply when your grammar is readable, please. =\

Please child, I took all my English classes and passed with flying colors. Got my honors for minoring in French, too. Thanks.

Plus, I'm not bragging. I'm proving to you that I follow the news from all sorts of sources when you said I don't. You opened the door on that one. Don't confuse it for bragging when I'm just giving you evidence to prove you wrong. Get it right, man; it was your argument. You just kill yourself left and right with contradictions. You're funny as hell.

I'm not pretending to be thirty. I'm 2/3 way there! Thanks for noticing =)

I'm sorry but I will not even have a convo with someone who's grammar is poor. I don't have tolerance for that.

Plus it wasn't bashing, she really types like someone who's in 4th grade. Stating the facts isn't bashing... The truth hurts, deal with it.

My grammar is poor? Point it out, please, and I'll do the same for you. We'll keep scores; it'll be fun.

You're the one who's got too much arrogance floating around. It's funny because you dig up a thread about you that's been dead for a while. Talk about conceited, "look at me, look at me, I read all these stuff about religion so I'm smarter than you!!!" Pffft.

Ey straight up, f**k you. She's bashed me and you don't warn her. Where's the old moderators, these fools are jokes.

Oh and about the christianity thing, I thought you were steppin in to get some answers. Have a few tabs open. Oh by the way, f**k you again.

Bashed you? Not even. Please tell me where I bashed you. Point it out, will ya, and I'll point out where you've bashed other members. I bet you'd win hands down on that note.

Old moderators. Dude, you want old school? I AM OLD SCHOOL SO THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENT though I know these current mods are doing pretty well themselves. I was invited to be on people staff when you were learning to such your toes, so please, shut it with old school cuz you weren't even here.

Like the man said, you dismissed all my points with a sorry excuse cuz you can't back up what you say. But oh well, I'll live cuz it's your problem not mine.

Oh, you saying "f**k this and f**k that" is really making more mature than me =) HAHA. What a joke. Joke, joke, joke.

The only answers you can give about religion is YOUR OWN, and no one else's. Don't pretend to know for others. I remember you saying you follow some Buddhism. MY ASS need you to stop lying. KTHNXBI.

Okay, let's see.

"Ey" isn't a word. "She bashed me and you don't warn her." You're using two different tenses, past and present. You should either change bashed to bashes or change don't to didn't. It should be "where are," not "where's."

You should probably make sure that your grammar is 100% correct before saying you won't debate with someone with poor grammar. Just saying.
