I'm joking. I barely played the damn game, but my former roommate would have FF and WoW parties.

Expansion pack raised it to 80 and added 3 new classes.

Uh no... I had capped experience points and merit points on DRK, THF, SAM, RNG, NIN, and DRG. Unless it was an update after WoG expansion pack. I quit about a month after the WoG expansion pack. If it's true.. I might just have to rejoin some time this year.

From what the FFXI community was told, that's the point of merit points in the first place. They'll never raise the lvl cap, if anything add more merit options and more points.

My brothers love this game. I'll ask them what they're at with their characters; I reckon they must be up to some serious pwnage now seeing as they spend their lives playing WoW.

Tamacracker, back from vacation?

Yar.. had a contract in Abruzzi, Italy to network a newly constructed Citibank.

Yeah I love the game as well. I played WoW for 2 months and realized it was more for kids/teens. Very simple game, in my opinion. FFXI on the other hand was a bit more difficult and sadly, a lot more time consuming. Both good games, but one just seems more for beginners and young kids and the other is a bit more sophisticated.

shrug.gif The WoW vs FFXI debate comes down to personal preference. I could argue that WoW is better because of it's more in depth and complex pvp system. One thing in FFXI that I loved was their crafting system. Couldn't just get to max level in 1 day, and if you did you'd have to spend 24 hours and millions upon millions of gil, assuming the mats were even on the Auction House. I was less than impressed w/ the pvp in FFXI, and the ability to travel (though a lot of my travling woes went away when I got all the teleports and a lot of bunkers so I could teleport all over the place). I do like how much faster you can level in FFXI (a level every few hours if you've got a good group) as compard to WoW (8-12 hours at higher levels). I also liked the bazaar. I guess the main factor keeping me on WoW instead of FFXI is that I have to devote less time to WoW and can get on to PvP a lot easier than I could in FFXI.

You realize that WoW actually STARTS when you hit level 70 right? Have you even been in a 40 man raid? FFXI is just straight grinding with a few quests.

You do realize that in FFXI Lv. 75 is when the game actually starts. Like I said, WoW to me was too simplistic. I felt like I was playin a kids game, that's why I left WoW. I'm not sayin the game sucks... I'm just sayin the game is kinda boring... to me... it's not my type of RPG. On top of that I've been a FF fan boy since FFV.

Oh and the cute part was, "have you ever even been in a 40 man raid" lol

In FFXI... I was in Dynamis, Sky, Sea, etc etc... Each of which was 3 alliances plus extra people who couldn't form an alliance, 18 members multiplied by 3 alliances... you do the math LOL

Lmao, you actually believe grinding 74 levels is "deep"? You even admitted to playing two months, you honestly think you actually experienced enough for form an opinion?

If you're talking sheer numbers, people have organized things in WoW to take out opposing factions' main cities. I can't remember the number, but there have been times when a raid (alliance) gathered over 500 people to go attack the other city and destroy everything in their path. It's gotten intense enough that they crash the server because of all the activity going on in the already heavily populated city.

Also while the stuff in FFXI may start at "end-game", I hated that so much of what you did was reliant on other players. I can solo a lot more in wow.
