I am trying to create a worn paper background, somewhat sandpaper like for example, http://aeiko.net/.
Go to that website and click on 'Artwork" and click on the first image on the top left. How can I create a background like that, or what textures should I use? |

Okay, first: Open up Photoshop, create a new file. Fill the background with the color #F6EDE4. It doesn't have to be that exact one, but something similar is good enough. This will be your 'base,' if you will.
I would suggest using textures or stocks from Killinginthename.com, Stargazer Designs, or Outspoken-Kate. Those sites have some awesome stuff to create the effect you want. For this example, let's take this stock image, lower its opacity to around 45%, and place it behind your base. Set the base layer to "Color." Then throw this layer on top of everything else and set it to "Multiply." These are just beginning steps; you basically have to play around with different blend modes for every layer you add on. Then you settle for what looks best to you. I hope my explanation helped you. |
