What have you ever done to fuel your obsession over something?

I started reading Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and I'm seriously addicted. I read books 2-5 in like two days. My roommate took my library card so I couldn't get number 6. I struck a deal: I'll stop by a bakery and get desserts so she'll give me the library card back.

That sounds a little sad.

So, what have you done to get someone to enable your weird obsession? Pay them? Feed them food?

I had an obsession with being at the top of my class back in my high school days. I was getting a B+, borderlining an A- in one of my classes, and I just wouldn't stand for it. I made a deal with the teacher that if I did something, he would give me extra credit points to boost my grade up to an A. He said that if the science teacher agreed, I had to eat three, live cockroaches (my science teacher bred cockroaches). He didn't expect me to accept, but I did. And I ate them.

I don't do anything TOO extreme. Just go a few weeks without allowance so my mom will buy me Sims 2. shifty.gif

You're damned right I got the grade. My teacher was grossed out, but it was entertainment for the rest of the class. I wasn't allowed to have water as a chaser. I, however, wouldn't eat cockroaches again.

That's OD. Wow.

I haven't done anything weird at all to fuel any of my obsessions, actually.
