ok but really...
i could understand if it was something funny or the entire point of the graphic was the misspelling...
but on something like that...there's no logic point to it, all it's doing is trying to scream that they want to be in the pimp crowd...

I don't think the requirements for spelling should be that strict, but I'd prefer if graphics with spelling like that were not accepted. :/

so let's them grow out of it faster but not accepting them! =D

i don't really want to make a big issue about this, but i feel as if it's one of those tiny things that at least needs to be discussed and taken a bit seriously...

i don't think there is a good reason we shouldn't accept it. people use that kinda shit whether or not it's our personal preference.

i understand that, but my personal opinion is that it makes createblog look like we're degrading ourselves, ya know?

RockItStudios and I said that we didn't want the spelling requirements to be strict. We just want them to be upped a little so that people who come here for graphics aren't turned off from using one because they don't like the spelling in it.

But i agree with what Jc said. People still use it. We can dislike it as much as we choose to, but it`s not like it`s really going to stop people.

I feel you on this one tho. _smile.gif

I accepted this banner knowing full well that the "spelling" was grammatically incorrect. Although the graphic does feature text speak, look at how the designer has remembered to put the correct punctuation in - she's spelt everything correctly, text speak or no.

Createblog is a resource site, I don't see how we could be degrading ourselves if we accept popular designs like this - it's still a resource that is in demand by all those hip teens that revile spell checks.

Bsidez, itz teh int3rwbz, gramma iz relative!

I always understood that we didn't accept things with spelling errors shrug.gif Or maybe I've just been telling people to correct things without realize that it actually wasn't something that was discussed. I think that if we have quality in the graphic we should also have quality in the text. Granted, things with slang words are accepted... and I have no problem with that, but misspelt words should be kinda obvious. If you know how to use an image program you should know how to use spell check.

I think there's a difference between internet shortcuts and just plain shitteous grammer.

"U R COOL" is different from "YoO Iz kEwEl" If I saw the second one on a layout, I'd pretty much condemn the entire site it came from. But the first one is acceptable... especially if it's paired with, like, an AOL smiley.

Grammar and spelling, ftw. thumbsup.gif I kinda think we shouldn't be so strict with this but I guess it wouldn't hurt. It would be nice to see proper english in our graphics.

What everyone's said about personal preference and all is pretty much my stance on this as well. Even if I can't stand that way of typing, I know that other people still think it's cool or cute or whatever, and as long as the overall quality of the graphic is something that a particular audience WILL be drawn to, I can't reject it because of the annoying spelling.

Typically, if I see a graphic or layout that is just atrociously misspelled, the rest of it looks bad, too. And if it's a typo or a silly misspelling of a word like "definitely", of course I'll reject it. It depends on the context.
