On August 26th, no later than 2359, I am required to report into the Marine Corps' Central Command on MacDill Air Force Base, for transport to Baghdad, to fulfill the requirements essential to mission accomplishment on a 7 month deployment to Iraq.

I don't give two shits about politics, although I've been briefed on a good amount. I see dollar signs with this deployment. 20 grand. SUGOI!!!

And to make it even better, I'm going to fill an individual augment billet, not sure what I'll be doing yet. I'm probably going to be filling a security slot, which (I've been told) is pretty fun.

Damn, I'm excited.

The training begins in March, and I'll get to take about 45 days of leave (vacation) before I head to Tampa for check in.

Make sure to wear condoms when you rape them Afghan woman. It's a roadtrip trying to get your penis in that vagina through all that pubic hair.

luck to you, buddy. i f**king hate the war, but i respect those who are in it. keep your head about you.

ahh!! lol everyone wants met o join the navy! but i wanna join the airforce, :-)

i almost joined the army last year. took my asvab and everything, and then i was like okay i wont do it.

i dont think im gonna join anytime soon. as much as i would love to. i might jsut wait until i get my A.S and the join. eh whatever. ill eventually do it i guess, im only 18 i got a while to figure ito ut.

i also almost did marines, i sooo wanted to go to parris island!! i use to watch the old Bootcamp shows on the military channel and thats how igot so into the marines for a while.

and some of my friends are in the military and they tell them theyre gonna get deployed on this date and they either leave before or after the that date. thats why i said that.

For females, I'd recommend AF or USN.

I'm going to be in Tampa for about a week. I used to live in Oldsmar when I was younger, and I went back pretty often to visit my USF friends.

Is Club 1509 still open? Is 7th Ave still a hotspot?

We should grab a couple drinks.

Females aren't allowed to be grunts. You can choose another MOS like Combat Engineer (HOLLA!) or Field MP, however, a female getting deployed to be a "door-kicker" is unlikely.

And you should really enjoy Ybor City for whats its worth. I love it out there. Do you live in Tampa, or in another city/town in the bay area?

I've been on this forum for a minute.

That's pretty cool, depending on your views but I see you're pretty excited for it. I don't think I'll ever be deployed to the sandbox, it'll be a while before I get active duty status in the AF.

Thanks mom. Do me a favor though, don't rearrange anything in my room. I know I moved out 3 years ago, but its still my room when I go home on leave. Oh, and I really hope you didn't find that shoe-box in my closet hidden underneath those old basketball trophies.

Given that my time on this island will be up, and since I don't plan on re-enlisting to be a drill instructor anymore, I'm probably just going to use the cash to pay off the little debt I have, save the rest, and fix up my Caprice. I might drop a couple g's on gear, though. hehe

Are you going to be able to contact people back home on a regular basis? Internet access? My friend's boyfriend's in the Airforce and he was deployed to UAE a month or so ago. I know she's constantly looking at her phone at the same time every single day waiting for him to call her.

I never really know what to say to someone that's about to be deployed. Is "good luck" okay? Or "be safe"?

I just had my class on explosive ordinance disposal today and got to mess around with semtex, PE4 and C4. Not to mention, I had to go out and spot mock-explosives hidden in various places in a training course that packed a little punch. It's been rather nerve-racking, lately.
