At school or when just hanging out, my friends and I get along great and we have tons of fun. We go fishing, paintballing, watch movies, etc. You know, normal healthy teen activities.

However, some of my friends are real party people. I love hanging out with them normally, but I'm just not into the whole drunk orgy thing, you know? I just don't find it fun. For me, I get the nasty side effects (nausea, sleepiness, etc.) before the good ones (all the girls become beautiful). I'm not into grinding because I get bored after maybe 30 seconds of just rubbing hips and groping. I tried it, didn't like it.

Now since it's the holiday season, I'm pretty bummed out when a ton of my friends go clubbing at like midnight. I have other friends to hang out with too, but it gets old after a while, u know? It's just I really wanna hang out with these guys and gals but seeing as how it's holiday season, they're out partying every other day. I wanna have fun with them while they're sober, not happy-go-lucky horny.

This really sucks. They're great friends and all, it's just at times like these (winter break, summer, etc.).... bleh.

You can still go wherever they go, just opt out from drinking or dancing, you can even find someone to talk to and if you get lucky, someone in the same situation as you are.

If you don't even want to bother with that, I suggest finding an independent activity that's fun and will keep you occupied when your friends decide to go out clubbing.

Do follow your friends around, just find other solo activities to do

It's sad and pathetic that drinking yourself silly and partying have become so common that it's classified as "normal teenage activities." This isn't normal to me at all, and I rarely get drunk because I don't want to risk anything stupid. I hate what alcohol does to people, and I'm sure they hate alcohol the day after when they wake up with the biggest headache. What's so "bleh" about it? I hate the fact that drunk driving even happens when it shouldn't.

i think its good for you to stay away from alcohol b/c that shouldnt be considered "fun"

if that set of friends has a different idea of a good time than you do, just hang with your other friends or just make new friends before any major school break.

I don't like the taste of alcohol very much, and I get tipsy just off one glass, so I feel for ya.
Grinding isnt all that fun, but talking to strangers is, s otry that when you get bored.

We should be friends rolleyes.gif

You don't have to drink to have fun.
You can still go and all just not drink you know.
You wouldn't know how many times I've went somewhere and stayed sober.

Just chill =D and do what you wish. But do you really need to hang out with people all the time? Even though you talk to strangers, be careful.

I am sometimes in this situation to. I just turned 21 last week, so I am EXPECTED to go partying and drinking and all that jazz, but honestly, it isn't all that fun. Hygenic was right when she said that you don't feel good the next day. I just don't think that people should cave into peer pressure because they are bored, or because they have nothing better to do. I have a group of friends that I hang out with, and we have tons of fun and get girls without even drinking. The point that I am trying to make is this, one of my friends once told me something that I will always remember; Why is it that we should have to drink to have fun? I thought about it, and after a year, I still can't come up with an answer.

I am in the opposite situation. My fiance and I LOVE to party, and our old friends don't really enjoy it as much as we do.

I just let them know they didn't have to be around when we did it, or they could choose to stay sober. It doesn't bother me that my friends don't party it bothers me if they judge me for it.

I'm one of those people who can't stay home for like 2 or 3 days in a row during a break or something, so I HAVE to go out. But I don't know, maybe I'm not horny enough to enjoy grinding or something. And clubs are too loud to have a good chat.

Like I said in my other post, just find an activity that you can do alone. Personally, I love to go mountain biking and I ride on the trails whenever I feel like it. It's a really nice sport and when I get angry or if I feel energetic, I start freeriding.

You need to find some more friends to hang out with that aren't into that. I'm not saying to drop your current ones...but you need to be around different people.

You can still have fun as long as you do what you want and if you're comfortable. No one going to call you a party pooper or anything unless it's a buzzkill. But in this case, you should just make the most out of the situation. On a serious tip, it's not all that fun when you wake up to a hangover, a bunch of doodles on your face, and a stranger/chick you've seen somewhere before on you. My morning after new years. Who's really having fun then?

I was up all night new years except for a nap from maybe 4 to 6 am. We played poker, went laser tagging earlier, setting off fireworks (illegally), the whole new years shebang. I suppose it was fun, but this girl I liked who I wanted to hang out with was out partying, and it was like an open thing so anyone can go, but all the aforementioned activities appealed to me more than drinking and grinding. Bleh.

I do have some friends who aren't into the whole drinking and horny orgy deal, but hanging out with them like every other day gets boring after a while.

No i'm just sayin how I can have fun without drinking and grinding. So like having fun isn't my problem, it's just when I wanna hang out with said buddies who are really into clubbing, then it becomes a problem. Especially during break.

Well I just someone new today and I think she might have the same prob too. But let me state from the getgo, I think she's a really, really nice and easy-to-talk-to girl. Thing is she's not into the party scene but loves doing a lot of other things; mainly outdoors. She totally reminded me of the topic starter. So I suggested she should come with me and some friends on a camping trip and she was psyched at the idea but eventually turned it down because she doesn't like meeting new people. So I'm still pretty stumped.

I know I love outdoor stuff like biking, paintballing, anything physical. Playing poker is fun, perhaps just chilling in a park. I don't know. But I really don't like partying. Camping sounds kick@ss.

Uhh isn't it illegal anyway to go "clubbing" if you're not 21?
What club could a teen possibley go to, to get drunk. I'm surprised that hasn't even been broughten up. The fact that it's illegal for anyone under the age of 21 should be reason enough not to get f**ked-up drunk, right?

All this damn pure pressure has made teens think it's okay to drink, or "cool" to get drunk and have "horny orgys" lol.

Anyway, good thing you're not into going out getting drunk f**king chicks. Props. Find some non-alcoholic activities like you have been doing.

Be cool stay in school.

I'm in Taiwan and the age is 18, and even then it's slack. They don't really even check for ID's. I think it's cuz the driving age is 18 so they don't worry as much about drunk teens driving.

There are a lot of clubs that are 18+ and most of the time, it's the bouncers outside the club that card you and not the bartender, so once you're in, even if you don't have a wristband or whatever, it's really easy to get alcohol. And no, just because it's illegal to drink doesn't really make it reason enough not to drink.

I really don't think it's peer* pressure that makes teens drink. If you know what it's like to be drunk and dislike it, then usually, you wont drink anymore. And if people are "pressuring" you to drink, you should be strong enough to say no.

So... to the topic. It really comes down to your (and their) ability to compromise. If I want to hang out with a friend who really likes to see movies while I really like to go shopping (for example), we either don't hang out or I do her thing one night and she do my thing another night. Now, I really like to go clubbing and I have some friends who really hate it, so I usually hang out with them the night or day before I go out, etc. It really shouldn't be that hard. Nobody can drink and party every single night and not eventually burn out, so I don't really know where there's a problem. Hang out with them when they're not clubbing and go find other friends when they are.

I have a friend who goes to a lot of parties and doesn't drink. She's there to watch the other drunk people, which is sometimes very entertaining, and to help out her friends when they need it. You can still spend a lot of time with them at the parties and clubs. There's bound to be someone else there like you, and maybe you can talk to them.
