That to the left of people's usernames in their post, when the little fella icon is colored it means they're online? And when it's black and white they ain't there? blink.gif
Sad to say I'm often very slow on the uptake of things..

Is there anything really big that you've been slow on? They usually make for a pretty funny story laugh.gif

Actually that is the correct English spelling. The Americanised spelling adds the 'z'.

Damn, this thread doesn't make me feel all that stupid anymore. XD.gif

Just last year, I thought the word "acorns" was pronounced and spelled as "eggcorns"...so I would always say "eggcorns" instead of "acorns" pinch.gif

Hmm, this isn't so much a "DUH" realization, but it's more of a, "What the hell? I've lived in America for most of my life, and I never knew this" that I just found out a few months ago.

A lot of Americans cook their food using microwaves and call it a night. I'm sure they use a pot once in a while, but a majority of them prepare food by pushing a few buttons. So, so sad.

I react like that to so many warning labels, road signs and advertisements in today's society. For example, I remember reading a warning label on a baby's stroller and it said, "Remove infant before folding." blink.gif

Eh well I'm in marching band and the whole band got shirts this year. We were allowed to put nicknames on the back of them. Well one of my friends who plays Tuba had Ba + Ba = Tuba on the back of his. I swear the clarinet section (including me) couldn't figure it out. We sat there for 10 minutes saying "Ba + Ba = Tuba???". Then we finally figured it out and all shouted "OOOOHHHH" at the same time (somehow). That's my blonde moment. biggrin.gif

Were you raised in the East coast? I have a bit of an East coast/Midwest accent, and I couldn't pronounce, "Oregon" for the life of me.

Does anyone remember the old Spiderman that came on Fox Kids in the 90s? Well I thought the theme song said "Spiderman, Spiderman, you want some eggnog, Spiderman?" but in reality it was "Spiderman, Spiderman, radioactive Spiderman". Well, ayears later my brother told me the real words to the theme song. I was in ignorance for such a long time.

In Georgia there's a Houston county that's pronounced House-ton. Drives me insane. Fortunately, I pretty much never have to go anywhere near there.

I've actually seen some cases where they'll signify if a person has room to talk about something. It usually goes somewhat like this:

Noob: "That's gay, you're gay, everyone's gay."
Person with six boxes: "Shut up, you don't have more than 100 posts, you have no room to talk."
