Sad day, seeing you go
You used to make me hate typing in status updates
I couldn't do it without talking in present tense
I complained about you when Facebook revamped
But apparently you were a part of their heart
But alas, I'll carry on, my wayward son

Everytime I hear that song, I think of Guitar Hero II.

But yeah, I kinda miss the "is." My statuses weren't supposed to make sense and now... they almost have to.

No Eddie, it's about the removal of the 'is' from the Facebook status update thing.

One of my friends flipped out when they saw that you could delete it now, so I thought I'd overreact about it, too.

I might be in the minority, but I rather liked the "is."
It was very, um, facebook.
Although, it might be best, because sometimes I start to think in facebook status terms.
...I didn't just admit that.

Well the Myspace system still has that as well. I guess if you're creative or you're good with grammar, you can turn "_____ is" to anything.

Haha, that's funny. I think I might do that subconsciously once in a while.

The most nerdy facebook moment was when I was discussing forking with a friend of mine and he didn't believe you could "fork" somebody and I was like... "yeah, you can, fork is totally a verb in the superpoke application on facebook."

Yeah I heard about this - there was a group on Facebook with millions of members campaigning to get the 'is' removed. Wow. And I thought *I* had time on my hands.

/flips out.

I don't use myspace either. I don't like it at all. Therefore I really have no idea what you're talking about, Eddie.

What? This is crap. The final straw making facebook like that other, abominable social networking site. The "is" always gave me a grammatical challenge, a chance for me to flex my most erotic muscle. You could say anything you wanted, you just had to edit the tenses and phrasing a bit.

Haha, funnily enough you're not alone. There was an article in the paper recently about the challenges of starting each status with 'is'.

Personally, I'm glad it's gone - though for the life of me I don't know what to put myself as doing now.

But it's still gay. Face book is for fags who who have nothing better to do in life. For example... When I had a face book, I would see a new application in my notifications every god damned day. You know how annoying that is? Yeah, I hear you can turn it off, but it's the principle of the matter. And the matter is that Facebook if for homo's, and homo-friendly people alike. To think that some one actually sits there at his computer, assembling such a "masterpiece" so that two people will actually use it, and a week later, completely forget he added it to his profile.

Not to mention that they sold out and now let everyone, in college or not, use Facebook. Wow. That's all I have to say. Just back away, and keep it cool, mah man. Just back away.

Yeah, Facebook is nothing but annoying to me anyway. All those stupid app invites and everything and I hate that you can't customize. I'm a creative person. I need to create. Only reason I have one is because some of my friends use it as opposed to MySpace. I still like MySpace a lot more than Facebook.

^ I actually like that you can't customize (not much, anyway). I hate blinding background and ugly font. Annoying applications aside, Facebook is awesome.

And about the "is" being gone...about freaking time.

Never been an issue for me. At least, nothing worth complaining about. Maybe that person likes blinding you with their background and their ugly font. tongue.gif I mean, it's their profile. It should be their choice.

Agreeeeeeed. Most people have really shitty taste, and it makes myspace miserable. Nevermind all of those other things that make myspace miserable.

Oh yeah, I noticed that today. First myspace removed the "is", and now facebook did. I really don't care, but I usually use "is" anyway. Also, like Eddie said, you can pretty much make your status say what you want with the "is" still there.
