swearing.. banging somebody.. thats nice and all that they could make a song out of something like dat.. but ye sing it to somebody who cares..

the only time i'll listen to rap is when i'm at a party or i'm being forced to when im in somebody's car. laugh.gif loool.gif . it's really frustrating having to put up with shitty musik blasting up in my ears and i cant do nothing about it. LMAO!!

as for rock.. a little 2 much screaming.. i like soothing music.. not somebody screaming in my ears.. LMAO!! some rock songs are nice though.

I listen to a little bit of everything. Except new country, rap, and most new rock.
Almost all new music, in my opinion, is shit.

My friends say I have a weird taste in music.
I listen to classic rock & blues(the doors, jefferson airplane, tom petty, strawberry alarm clock, led zepplin, pink floyd, canned heat, T REX, deep purple. etc.) and a LOT of hip hop, (immortal technique, DL incognito, 40 cal., nas, lil wayne, the pack, etc.)

Dude you're thinking of Metal/Death Metal/Screamo. Rock is pretty much the softer/heavy stuff. Now as for Country I don't hate it, I just don't understand it.I mean it's not terrible.I really don't like any of the new music today(eg:Boys Like Girs)it all sounds the same,I mean not even any guitar solos, some of those bands are good though. My perfered choice is Metal[lamb of god],and the old stuff from the 70's to 80's[GNR] and Rap is pretty cool, although I enjoy Hip-Hop more.

Rant over.

A lot of old school stuff, David Bowie predominantly.

Other than that, industrial, rock and the occasional metal band.

Dude, you just indicated a dislike for like almost every genre, unless you like their sub-genres.

The Shins KICK ASS. So do The Arcade Fire and Stars.

I listen to a lot of Alternative Rock and indie (although, not really a genre since it's more of a classification). I've been getting in on indie music which is more on the folk side, and I'm loving it. Neko Case = amazing. I try to listen to as many local or Canadian bands as possible because I'm patriotic like that, and thankfully, Canada has a lot of brilliant indie artists and bands.

I hardly ever listen to rap, hip hop or pop, which is why it usually takes me months to find out about popular songs everyone's listening to (example: I only found out about Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry a few weeks ago - sad, I know).

I know, the Shins changed my life.
What part of Canada do you live in?
There is this band called Boys Night Out, they are from Southern Ontario and I ADORE them.
Their new album isn't really as great as it couold be but they are great musicians and really awesome guys.
If you wanna check them out you should listen to the albums in this order
Make yourself Sick
Broken Bones and Bloody Kisses
50 million people can't be wrong (digital EP)
Trainwreck
If you wanna check out their new album it's all you, but I only love a few songs.

We need, like, a music suggest thread. Make people put the genre in bold and recommend some artists and songs to people, haha. I know we have a current favorite song thread and stuff.

Depends on what I am "feeling" at the time.

I don't mind rap/heavy rock when I'm exercising. I was forced to learn to like hip-hop/pop music when I danced. I don't mind classical music when I'm heading to sleep or if I'm studying. I like "slow" music when I'm upset, and I need something to console me. Plus, I like miscellaneous genres just because I grew up listening to them or they were childhood favorites.
