i just joined livejournal for the first time, and i'm *trying* to put in a custom layout.
i just went to 'custom css' and entered the layout code. however, everything went crazy. meaning, the new layout did not show up, but instead my site just looked extremely strange. i've tried looking at tutorials, but every single one seems outdated. the answer is probably painfully obvious... help would be much appreciated. ...afterwards, if it's obvious, please smack me. |

Are you in S1 or S2 mode?

I'm having the same problem. I used LJ a long time ago, but it seems they've changed the set-up process? The furthest I can get is Customize Journal, then I'm lost.
(I'm assuming it's in S2, because on the left it says "Switch to old style system S1.") |

Aren't you supposed to select "No" on the drop down box that says use page HTML or something, because I signed up for Livejournal a few days ago and did that and my code worked fine.
