Anyone into PC Gaming? It's been kind of slow at work so I've been looking for games to play to entertain me. I found dewmocracy.com and that a pretty cool game. I've made it through 2 of the 3 chambers. Surprised at how in depth it was. Anyone played this or any other online games?

What are you into? Strategic games or FPS or World of Warcraft stuff?

I like just about every genre, but it has to be different or unique for me to really enjoy it. Games I enjoyed the most by genre:

First Person Shooter:
  • Halo Series: The first FPS that I ever played where each gun had a specific role. In general, first person shooters have been all about one gun being better than the other. I love how balanced Halo is when it comes to it's weapons. This leaves room for some major strategy.

Strategy:
  • Homeworld 2: This game is most balanced strategy game I have ever played. It's 5-6 years old, and it's still an amazing game. I absolutely love it.

MMORPG:
  • Phantasy Star Online: This game was amazing. I still love the original. It was one of the first 3D MMORPGs. Cheating was rampant, but it was still a blast at the time. Now of course, there are better MMOs, but I still get that nostalgic feeling when I play this one.

RPG:
  • Mass Effect: I have to say, I have never liked the RPG genre. I never liked sitting at home on my ass, being alone, and not interacting with real people. It's just a terrible feeling.

For other FPS, have you try counter strike 1.6 or source, although i like 1.6 better. There's also quake and unreal tournament but i never touched them cuz i don't have the games.

For strategic games.. Stracraft broodwar, that's all i got cuz that's all i play whenever i have time.

mmorpg and rpg, i'm not into those so i'm no help with those.

GO here, this one is pretty cool, and it's free.
http://www.schtserv.com/connect-psobb.php

It's a private server for the game "PSO:BB".

Haha my boyfriend says that it's his new addiction. It has literally turned him against WoW. Well he still ike WoW, but it just doesn't give him the happiness that Mass Effect does. wink.gif It looks pretty cool, but I tend to get sleepy when he plays it -- RPGs are too much storyline for me. Same thing with WoW in the past lol.

Eh, Orange Box HL looks cool... Those portals. I'm sure everyone's played it though. I heard it gets really fun when you're um.. *cough* under the influence *cough*

loved that game.

FPS: halo 1, 2 and 3, call of duty 2 and 4, and ghost recon 1 and 2 were good for their short lapse of time.

RTS: Starcaft is my most played game, i will kill 9/10 any other who plays RTS on starcraft. before SC played warcraft and warcraft 2. never got too much into ages of empire or tiberian sun, but the first command and conquers like red alert were awsome.

RPG/MMORPGs: Warcraft is sloly become my new most played game (70 holy pally twisting nether full vind w/ some s1/s3 haha). PSO ^ from the quote was one of the first mmos out besides evercrap and was great for its time. it really does have a certain nostalgic feel to it. pokemon if that counts, i played red from the first series to game boy.

Turn based games: i played all of the heroes of might and magic, moslty 1 and 2, which are definitely better than 3. Lords of Magic is one of those games i played that i always felt had SO much potential if others had picked it up and had it gained more popularity.

currently all i play is WoW and the occasional round of halo 3.

Homeworld was awesome. I've played Homeworld and Homeworld Cataclysm, though I can't remember if I ever got to Homeworld 2. It took up a nice amount of time during my childhood though. The strategy involved for the game was pretty intense for my age (late elementary, early middle) when I was playing it though, but I figured out after a while and heck, building your fleet and dominating was quite satisfying.

Forget Jump Start/Educational games.

You're not kidding. If you could win in that game then you had to be somewhat intelligent. Ugh, you may or may not like Homeworld2. Homeworld was a bit different than Homeworld2, but both games are absolutely incredible. In my opinion, Homeworld2 was better, but a lot of the die-hard fans didn't like it as much.

When did Homeworld 2 come out? I remember Homeworld was old school.

Man, I might want to go back and play it again for a bit. I used to salvage/steal everyone's heavy cruisers and carriers. And those ion beams were just beautiful.

Yeah, thats why I like the Dewmocracy game. Every week they open up a new chamber so it's like playing a new game. It's just different than other games I've played. Plus, I love PC gaming because it's FREE!

I'm pretty sure HW2 came out in 2003.
