There are rumors, saying that theres a movie coming out in 2009 of Dragonball Z.

Well, Thunder.. you're right. Justin is currently training and stuff for the movie.

Thats like the rumor they had about making Avatar into a live action movie. I mean, I'm kinda iffy about any of these kinds of ideas but its always nice to see paranormal movies.

I was just thinking the same thing. My son is going through a major Dragonball phase right now so the characters are fresh in my mind. This is guy IS NOT Goku. I'm a little dismayed, to be honest. It's like the movie is being made by the friggin WB or something.

I have to note that while the anime is obviously Japanese, that doesn't necessarily make the characters as such.
1) Goku is an alien. Born from the planet Vegeta, the home of the Saiyans, Goku was sent to Earth in a very Superman fashion. Technically he cannot be asian. He could very well be similar to any race on Earth, since he clearly resembles a human in every way. 2) Bulma has blue hair. Asians characteristically have dark hair. More to the point, her and her father's company, Capsule Corps, is located in "West City" which could be interpreted as a western city, IE American. However Asia and America don't really exist in the Dragonball world. So differing characters by race is pointless. |

I just don't understand. :[ No one looks right (haven't seen images of Piccolo yet). How hard would it have been to get Bulma some blue damn hair?! Master Roshi isn't nearly perverted looking enough. And OMG. What the f**k is going on with Yamcha? Just what the f**ks all around. I can't even get started on Goku. I mean, he's got that naive look down and all, but meh. I was hoping for the anime to come to life and that is probably where I'm going about this all wrong. It's clearly a gross adaptation and if I can get that squared away in my head, perhaps I can enjoy this. |

Well, looks can be deceiving. They may not LOOK like the characters from DBZ, but we should focus on how WELL they portay them. Just my opinion, we don't know if the movie is going to suck just because some actor/actressses don't look exactly like certain characters.
You're not going to find buffed-asian-big-hair-men just like *poof*. Anyways, this movie production looks like it's going to happen anyways, so why complain? Just watch how it all plays out. Who knows? Maybe they chose the actors/actresses to act as a particular character for a purpose. Just saying my opinion. I think it's better not to judge so quickly at looks when you haven't even seen the actual film yet. |

But anyways, I watched the trailer earlier this afternoon and it looked really...comedic. Like, the acrobatics were goofy and some of the characters look kinda off. Like Bulma. When did she become a super-killer bitch? |

I'm 100% pleased with the way this movie is turning out so far.
Nobody in their right mind would expect a Hollywood adaptation of Dragonball to actually be good, so that's moot as a standard to aspire to. No, the real danger here is the movie being just good enough to be mediocre. Thankfully, that's not the case. With the way things are ensuing, this will join the ranks of Battlefield Earth and The Grudge as an AAA movie to watch on Rifftrax. And by AAA, I mean complete dog****. I wouldn't have it any other way. |

I watched part of this. It wasn't that bad, if you look at it from a random movie perspective, instead of a Dragonball movie perspective. Problem with that, is that it is a Dragonball movie and as such, I lost part of my soul last night.
